Hello there. I am upstanding business owner in sandy springs that was treated in a humiliating way tonight (21 minutes before closing). I pulled up at this Kroger 30 minutes before closing and was following 3 people into the store.... Until I was abruptly stopped by an employee who slammed the door shut and locked it right before I entered. Keep in mind that the store was still open for 21 more minutes (I got to the door at 10:39pm). The Kroger closes at 11pm. After standing at the door for 25 minutes asking for a manager to please let me make 1 simple purchase, for some Grapes for my 2 year son, I was aggressively and rudely denied entry to the store. With no cause or reason other than, " the employee was tired and wanted to go home." About 30 other patrons were still roaming the store and later entered the line as I asked for someone to please help me either buy some Grapes for me or let me run in for 30 seconds and buy them. Notes: Store closing hours are set at 11pm online. I arrived at the door at exactly 10:39pm (21 minutes before closing) and got rudely and aggressively shut out of the store. A white guy with glass (see picture attached, if it lets me attach pics). Closed and locked the doors 20 minutes early because he said he was "tired and ready to go home" and "can do what he wants 30 before closing", then said, "I want to go home, so I can close when I want. Go away! ". I have shopped at this Kroger dozens of times with 20-30 minutes left before closing in the past. All the managers I have spoken to always said that they lock the doors at around 5 minutes before 11pm. Even another store clerk asked him why he was blocking me out with 20 minutes left open. This was the first time that anyone has locked me out 20-30 minutes in advance. I even asked 3 employees (that he let walk in from 10:30pm- 10:50pm) to please allow me to give them $30 for a pack of $5-10 grapes. All 3 people were 100% amazing and offered to help me feed my toddler, until this guy rushed over and told them all that he was in charge! He said that he refused to allow anymore sales after 10:30pm unless they were already in the store. I begged and pleaded and offered everyone 3x the price of the goods sold to please just help me out. But the rude employee kept saying he made the rules, that he was the night manager in charge and that everyone had to obey him. If he wanted to close 30 minutes early, then it was his choice. This guy should be fired immediately! He made a huge scene out of what could have been a wonderful customer service opportunity... Develop into a world class, never forgotten, terrible experience.

I just left the Sandy Springs Circle Kroger and this is exactly what is wrong with customer service! I went in for Children’s Tylenol, Children’s Motrin and Kids DayQuil. (All pharmacy items) I also had 2 PRIME drinks and one Gatorade. 6 items total. When I walked into the store, the self checkout was packed so I asked the pharmacy if they could check me out. They said NO! There was no one in line and no one waiting…. But they said anymore than 5 items and they weren’t allowed to check people out. I said, “ I have a 10 year old at home with a fever of 102.5” and walked out. People are just terrible at their jobs, they don’t care and there is no customer service. (Is Kroger so corporate that they weren’t able to make a decision to ring up one extra item? Was someone watching and they were going to lose their job??? I’ll never use that Kroger pharmacy again… ‘Back to Fountain Oaks Kroger. They actually care.

Kroger within complex. Pros: Large food bar. Open layout. Great signage- everything was easy to find. Full service deli with fresh sandwiches and various foods available to purchase. Cons: The bakery needs to be larger. You can tell they cut the bakery in half. There was not a lot of fresh bread to pick from - limited options. Sandwich rolls were missing, specific loafs of bread missing, and the Kaiser rolls were hard. Restocking. There were various items missing that Kroger usually has. I went on Wednesday, when the new sales start, and there were a number of things missing. However, I talked to the sales associates and they apologized. They said that restocking usually isnt an issue and it does not happened often. Would I Go Again? Yes. Great atmosphere and the people are nice and friendly. Hopefully the next time I visit it will be fully stocked.

What was once a great Kroger has become a dump.

Reading positive reviews on this Kroger is the best entertainment ever. Either they are fake reviews, or the people giving this Kroger positive reviews have the lowest standards on earth.

Parking is beyond horrible. Because this Kroger shares a parking lot with easily 20 other stores there is NEVER any convenient parking available during the daytime. Especially since they have added easily 10 new handicapped spaces on top of the ones that were previously available.

Produce is usually rotten or molded. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I visit this Kroger the grapes have bags that are molding/rotten. Greens in bags are wilted/yellowed and their fruits are either out of stock or bruised so bad they aren't worth buying.

Deli/self-serve area is a joke. Typical wait time for anything at the deli is well over 10 min. Not because it's always busy, but because the Deli/bakery staff is far too busy talking to each other instead of working.

Bakery is a joke. 9 times out of 10 they don't even know what you're saying to them. I asked about a type of bread they carried and had to repeat myself FIVE times before the woman (who looked like I had grown a third eye) finally turned and got someone else. When I asked them the exact same question they went in the back and got the bread I wanted out of the freezer.

Natural/organic foods is a MESS. Their bulk food bins are always empty/out of stock. Almond and Peanut butter grinders are always empty/out of nuts. They recently scattered the organic/natural foods all over the store and put all the craft beer in that area. In the process they moved an entire aisle and revealed the FILTH on the floor under that aisle.

Milk is often out of date or out of stock. NEVER buy the discounted milk, it is discounted because it will expire within 24-48 hours of purchase. Always check the dates, smell the milk before drinking. The stock crew is TERRIBLE about letting milk sit before getting it in the cooler. The dairy section is FULL... of out-dated stock. Purchased Oui Yogurt only to get home and discover that 5 of the small jars were expired by 5 months! Eggs are often oozing out of the cartons from being smashed on top of one another.

Check-out lanes are pathetic. They recently removed about 5 lanes next to the Starbucks booth and put in more self-check out. This makes roughly 20 self-check out lanes and less than 10 regular registers which usually only have one or two cashiers on duty. Most of the time the self-check out is jammed up because one or two of the systems are down.

Gas Station is messy. The paper-towel dispensers and hand sanitizers are always empty. Receipt printers are almost always empty, if you want a receipt you have to get the clerk to print one. Air pump/hose is ALWAYS broken. On any given day the air hose is running but has no pressure and gauge is broken (6lbs of air in a flat tire read 50lbs of pressure on broken gauge). Management NEVER keeps the air pump working and it is the ONLY FREE air pump in Sandy Springs.

Shopping carts are almost always stacked up in parking lot and not in the store. Grab one if you see it in the parking lot. Hand sanitizer in the entrance is always empty/out.

Customer service always seems to be put-off, annoyed or otherwise disinterested in helping. Walked in and there were easily 20 people in line, all looking like they had been there for a long time.

Starbucks is priced higher than a regular location and the drinks are made poorly. The guys who work there spend more time using their phones than actually paying attention.

At the end of the day the only reason this Kroger is still open is because it's the closest one in 3 miles, which in Sandy Springs traffic can take over half an hour. This review isn't even considering the staff, which typically is rude, dismissive, annoyed or otherwise put-off by having to do anything besides the minimum.

UPDATE: 2024, nothing better about this location. In fact it's only...

THIS was the WORST Experience I've had at any Kroger. I used the self-checkout system (cash register# 5) and the machine would not take my card. I asked the women overseeing the self-checkout register to please assist me. She came over and asked me try doing it again. I did, while I was going through the process, she walked away to help another customer. After she was done with the other customer, I told her again the machine is not working properly. She said you need to insert the chip 3X, then swipe (I was thinking to myself, I should not have to swipe 3X in order for me card to work! It's something wrong with this machine...HUGE RED FLAG) She asked me to do it again, and I did but asked her to please stay so she can see what the machine is doing. Once she saw the tranaction was not going through, she walked over and called a coworker on the phone (the coworker was at the other register). Once she picked up the phone she said it was my card. I told her it's not card. She asked me what kind of card do I have and I showed her it was a visa. She stated it again, "it's your card and you may need to call your bank". I said, excuse me? She said, yeah you need to call your bank. I was completely offended by what she said and surprised by her lack of empathy and her lack of willingness to help me. I asked her is there a way to move this transaction to another register? She said yes and moved me to another register. My transaction went through and it was NOT my card /bank's fault! I told her, something is wrong with register 5 and y'all need to shut it down or have repairs done on it. There was clearly no issuely with my CARD. I spoke with the manager and he said the same thing as the sale associate. This whole process took about 10 mintues. This store did not apologize for the inconvenience. I read some previous post and it seems to be an issue at the self checkout machines because another person stated a similar issue. DO NOT use the self-checkout machines! Of better yet, do not shop here if you like to use the self-checkout machines because they will not help you and blame it on your...
