This place has so much potential. First off unless you are doing something useful with the money you are making from the high rent, don't put it that high. If the rent is that high it should be put towards bettering the place, then getting the rent lowered after the fact to help everyone.
The doors need replaced for better access for those who are handicapped and what not as for the moment they aren't automatic so unless someone is kind, they have to wait.
Fix the restroom water so it runs hot when you wash your hands not ice cold, or actually runs instead of constantly having to hit the button for water.
The insulation and what not needs fixed because I hear it has to high a heating cost meaning it's time for a new batch.
You could start a trial contract for new businesses so that If they work at the end of the trial they have a chance for a longer contract and if not, then they aren't obligated to stay longer and lose them and you money. This brings new work to the mall, and for everyone.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently stopped by the mall to get my hair "done" and stayed in the salon past closing. Unfortunately I never seem to have time to visit through the mall... just to see which stores are in-between anchors. I visit some store or other in the anchor positions every other month or more.

JCPenney is still worth stopping by, and Old Navy is sometimes worth the trip. There are others I will be making time for soon.
I would love to see some higher-end stores added to the list, although I am willing to travel for many. Luckily, they tend to stick together.
I do enjoy stopping at the Commons, and some other places that aren't at the mall.. but I am finding more reasons to give things a try. You never know what you may run into...

All was peaceful until the dark riders came and destroyed our village. Many were cut down where they stood, and those who took up arms were slain or dragged away to become slaves - or worse. The church at the edge of town has been desecrated and is being used for dark rituals."
Seems the dark rituals are happening at the mall. The stores are as dated as the elderly men here for a walk.
Edit 2022: I should add that even though they removed the indoor public ash trays in the early 90s the old "main hallway" still smells like stale cigarette tar. 20 years of indoor smoking made the tar...
