First time trying the garbage pit after eyeing it up for over a month. Walked in, atmosphere is very modern and inviting. You seat yourself, and our server Paige was very quick to come and greet us. Paige was super friendly and helpful for recommendations for our first time. Awesome wait staff!
Unfortunately this is where our horror begins, we ordered a trash burger, trash fries, and a cheese quesadilla for our 10 month old daughter. Paige even made sure to mention to the chefs that the dilla was for a little one. Burger and fries were great, very tasty and affordable. Our quesadilla however, came out burnt and charred on both sides. We realize mistakes happen sometimes, but since it was for our daughter, we asked if the chefs could remake it real fast, as neither my boyfriend or I wouldn’t eat it ourselves, let alone for a 10 month old. Paige told us it wouldn’t be an issue, and asked one of the chefs to remake it for us.
Upon hearing the news, chef Eric decided to come out and greet us at the table, quesadilla in hand and proceed to look us in the eyes and tell us our dilla “didn’t look burnt to him” and that he wasn’t going to make us a new one. (Which he didn’t) He then went back to the kitchen and proceeded to laugh very audibly about the situation, (we could hear him laughing from across the entire restaurant from our seats) saying something along the lines of he had better things to do, (even though we were ONE OF TWO tables eating at the time) and proceeded to argue with Paige in front of the entire restaurant over said quesadilla. (Thanks for trying Paige!)
After rejecting our request and arguing with our server back and forth about not only our order but other customers orders that came in during our dining experience, I would recommend to avoid this place at all costs while “chef” Eric is working. The atmosphere and wait staff were awesome, but after chef Eric and his antics, we will not be returning anytime soon, or possibly ever if he’s still employed. Absolutely unacceptable behavior, shoutout to Paige for being super nice and taking our quesadilla off our bill, hopefully they can find her some chefs to do their jobs and fix their mistakes as they happen, or at least without out an attitude or one kept from the eyes and ears of...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience. We made a stop mid way during our road trip to grab a bite and after seeing good reviews, decided on here. Three of the four of us had to use the restroom, so we got up together, leaving the 4th person at the table after placing our order. On the way, my friend made a joke saying "i hope they don't think we're dining and dashing" because of us getting up at once. A few minutes later, one of the guys came over to us and said "We heard you guys were planning on dining and dashing, so i have to ask that you pay first or you aren't getting anything." The approach was entirely inappropriate and as someone who works in customer service, the sentence should have stopped at asking us to pay first. It was framed as an accusation with no room for reasonable doubt. We didn't cause a scene and immediately got up to pay because we fully intended to in the first place. When we got up to the till, the guy speaking to us told us the total was $71. Each of us was paying separately so I told him that and he loudly grumbled/sighed and said under his breath that it was "ridiculous." Neither he nor his buddy asked us at the start if we were paying separately and disrespected us straight to our faces.
Now, i would have fully understood a simple misunderstanding and asking us to pay, but it was 100% a blatant accusation and the disrespectful approach of telling us we wouldn't get anything then complaining in our face was outrageous. My friend who made the comment explained at the register that they probably overheard the joke and the context behind it. With no apology the guy just responded that they may have misheard because of the music in the background. In the end we still never...
Read moreTonight, I went out to eat with my aunt to the Garbage Pit for the first time! On our way in, we noticed that there was a dog running free outside, seemingly someone's dog had escapes. It was one of the waitresses' first day, and she was upset to hear that a dog was running free, and was seemingly quick to notify other staff, and even went out of her way to notify a patrolling officer outside of the restaurant that a dog was running loose. All of the staff were extremely kind, attentive, and they served us very quickly. The food was fantastic. It is also a family-owned establishment, and it was really lovely to see everyone working together with ease. 10/10 Recommend The Garage Pit. It was a beautiful first experience, and I'm very grateful that our waitress was there for the little guy who was running loose. I also really loved the racoon decorations inside!! ❤ Super super cool, and loved the music they had playing! It had a very...
