Sanibel Public Library — Attraction in Sanibel

When we visit Sanibel each year, we generally haul down a few pounds of bedtime picture books and leisure beach reads in our luggage. This year, instead of lugging the books with us, we paid $10 for a visitor library card. Im so thankful we went this route. The Sanibel Public Library is fantastic. Even better than our libraries at home, which is saying something because we live in a decently sized city. Sanibel Public Library has a very generous selection of new books — shelves worth. Well stocked and organized children’s section with plenty of old favorites and newer interesting picture and chapter books. They even have a few things to keep children occupied while parents look for books. If you need to get some work done, they have laptops (PC and Mac operating systems) available to use in the library for a couple hours. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They chatted with my children about the books they selected. We will certainly make another trip or two to the library while we are here this year, and every future year...

Amazing kids section! I’ve been to a lot of great libraries and this is my favorite kids section so far. We have two small children and visit the library whenever we visit my in laws who live on Sanibel. It’s perfect for getting energy out on a rainy day or after naptime or really anytime. Lots of windows. There’s some water behind the library/next door city hall where you can find, depending on the day, lots of birds, a bald eagle, alligator ,and screech owl, so you can even pair the visit with a quick nature walk. This library is the best for my 4 year old. I have only really checked out the child section but it looks amazing overall. This is such a nice indoor kid's play & learning area. There are books, trains, puzzles, games, legos, a wooden doll house, dry erase, little people etc. The list goes on & on. There is a designated area for the children and it is pretty large. It seems they do structured classes for the kids also. It is my favorite library and my favorite indoor kid's area locally. I LOVE Sanibel Island! Thank you for providing...
