Sanibel Deli & Coffee Factory — Restaurant in Sanibel

First off let me say that it looks way too much like a deli in there. Really scary as one of my deepest fears is delis. Ever since I was viscously attacked by a squirrel in a deli.

The food tasted so good but I have to complain because that’s what you do on Google.

The decor is very “decor-y”. They only have like pictures and statues. Unfortunately if you are a chronic statue hitter you will find no accommodations in this place. I have never wanted to hit a wiener statue so bad but was not able to. I couldn’t even climb on it!!!!!

They don’t have salt only NaCl which I can’t have being gluten free and all. The forks are only for left handed people which is incredibly inconvenient being that I am right handed. I wanted a slice of pizza at 10:30am and they hadn’t started making pizza at an incredibly early time that I was so frustrated.

Beware if you have a uncle that lived in a van down by the river like me because they have Chris Farley stuff everywhere. Man it really hurts cause I lost a uncle to this van river life. Super offended.

On a side note we loved it! Great pregnant comfort food for my wife and the Fat Kid grilled sandwich was so damn good! Can’t wait to be back in March to have it again! Happy New Year!!!

We went here to grab some breakfast sandwiches and get some sandwiches to take to the beach with us. The breakfast sandwiches were on point for sure!!! But the hoagies/subs/heros...whatever you want to call them... were not good... at all!!! They advertise Boars Head everywhere...but the only thing Boars Head about our sandwiches, were the wrappers. I know Boars head meats very well. I worked at a bagel store in Brooklyn growing up and have been a Chef using their products for over 20 years....that meat was not Boars Head. The Sandwiches also had 3 slices of turkey on a big sub sandwich....way more bread than meat! Reminded me of a skimpy Subway sandwich. And the hoagie bread was stale and spongie. Maybe I should have asked specifically for Boars Head...but if there are other options....why was I not asked which I prefer? Especially since their menus on the wall are all made by Boars Head. I was really excited to grab a sandwich there, reviews were great, like their sense of humor, like that everyone is vaxxed...wouldn't go back for a hoagie again, really disappointed. I did give 2 stars because the breakfast...

Staff extremely rude! Questioned our order for take out, complained about us being early, even made a point to show us the time left on the POS unit. Pizza was garlic overload! Couldn't taste anything else but the garlic. I'm sure that was intentional since we came in early to pick up our pizza which we did NOT mind waiting for. We will be sharing our experience with everyone!

In regards to response from Sanibel Deli, we were well aware that we were ordering the white pizza. If we had wanted a pizza with traditional sauce, we would have ordered that. We didn't ask to substitute, just to add toppings, we can't do that? Lesson for you, it's your job to make the customers happy not to argue their preference of toppings and sauce. As far as making a big deal of coming in early to pick up the pizza, I in no way had any issues that the pizza was not done, I said it's no problem at all. All you would have had to say is it should be ready in 20 minutes. Attitude is everything, being positive and courteous. It will get you so much further with customers than being negative and...
