Tried the re-opened T2 Saturday night…original T2 was SO much better for us. Original Margarita flatbread was one of the best along with their others…now the flatbreads are not so flat, half the size & more expensive, plus they don’t offer a Margarita anymore. I ordered the olive & onion and asked if they could put Brie or Gruyère cheese on it instead of goat cheese & was told NO because Gruyère doesn’t melt very well (even though it was on another flatbread) & then was told there are absolutely No substitutions made so NO to the Brie cheese too (this cheese was also on another flat bread.) This makes me think they are pre made & frozen & in the end it wasn’t very good anyway. My husband ordered the lamb burger medium rare & it was delivered well done…when he brought it to the waiter’s attention he was told that is the color of the meat…grey! French fries were not available that night so they were substituting (although customers can’t substitute) tri colored potatoes. My husband asked them to leave out the sweet potatoes & they said no problem…his dish was delivered WITH the sweet potatoes & the waiter said they were pre made that way so my husband would just have to pick them out. I could go on, but you get the idea…one of our favorite restaurants turned into a restaurant we’ll never...
Read moreWONDERFUL flatbread! This just opened about 2 weeks ago farther down from the original Traders on Sanibel. Main room inside bright Florida colors and a bit eclectic. They made use of all spaces for tables, some set back amidst brightly colored Florida themed wallpaper. A number of outside tables also popped in among the walkways of The Village Shops, which this is located in, most shaded with umbrellas. Friendly, BUSY waitstaff. GREAT LUNCH spot. Short rib flatbread with creamed spinach (NO! Not the yucky kind from your childhood)- but fresh in a wonderful sauce. Thin crust was perfect, a tad salty to me, but husband RAVED over it. I had the special: lamb flat bread and was unbelievable- creamed spinach , goat cheese, delicious sauce, with Greek style cuke and sour cream side. Drinks come with fun striped green paper straws and a nice touch was vintage style flamingo/ heron cocktail napkins . ;-). A BUSY place (as most places are on Sanibel), some tables a bit in the corners, but delicious food! Will...
Read moreTraders 2 is a more casual but still classy version of Traders. We visit Traders every time we stay on Sanibel/Captiva and was excited to try Traders 2. It is like a small cafe with charming decor. Feels trendy and posh. Attention to design down to the napkins and paper straws used. Being gluten free, due to a wheat allergy, I was happy to see the variety of tacos available. The tortillas are handmade and pressed daily. Try the kale and beet tortillas they are a good and colorful option besides corn. Foodies and non-foodies will enjoy this place. The food is excellent. My family of four left clean dinner AND...
