Just took my kiddos, ages 8 and younger. They loved it. There is a scavenger hunt for them to do, with prize at the end. I was really happy to share with them what life was like before modern conveniences. Let them see how blessed they truly are.😉 Lead to many good conversations. Each building has a short audio to listen too. Not everything is "No Touch" which is awesome with kids! Ringing the school bell we probably their favorite part. 😊 Cost was $10 for adult. Free kids, ages 18 and younger. Very well kept. Beautiful old buildings and vintage items. All of the staff/volunteers were friendly and helpful, and had great info to engage the kids. They stood outside the buildings to stay safe. Masks were required. Social distancing encouraged. Many of the buildings are small, so you wait your turn to enter. Sanitizer and...

I have had the great fortune of living in this area for 26 years and visiting Sanibel Island for just as many. It's hard to believe that this is hidden in the corner of this island. What a great piece of history we have here in SW Florida. Nestled on the beautiful island of Sanibel is a treasured piece of the past. Lovingly place in a natural setting so that you can become immersed in some of the history of this beautiful island. This place was perfect to learn, veiw and appreciate some of my areas past. If you are new to the area or have decided to move down and be part of our wonderful or Southwest Florida please take a moment...
