Worst customer service ever. I signed up as a new customer. I got my equipment, plugged it in, called cox customer service to activate it, and right away they tell me they cannot activate it, that they need to put in a work order. They were supposed to transfer me to a tech support person and ended up hanging up on me. I tried calling them back and got a message saying their office is closed. Yet they are supposed to be available 24hrs. I tried calling again and this time no one answered at all. I tried again the next day and the next and still no one even answered their customer service line. I decided to just cancel and go with another provider. I called a different cox number to ask them to cancel my account and refund me my deposit. They then told me they cannot do that because there was a work order in process, and they cannot cancel anything until the work order is processed, and that can take 10-days. I even returned the equipment to the cox store, and they still kept telling me I have to wait 10 days before I can cancel. I asked them to cancel the work order, I do not want their services anymore and they still told me they cannot, and I have to wait. I finally called another cox number and got a hold of someone who says they cancelled my account, but it will still take up to 10days to get my deposit back and they would be mailing me a check. But based on some reviews here, I may never see that money. Worst customer service ever. Worst internet provider to set up. UPDATE: It's been 3 weeks and still no deposit refund. Read moreUPDATE: while I maintain it was awful trying to communicate with Cox via there customer help phone line, chat, and email (hours on the phone being transferred with no one able to help me) as soon as I left a review I was contacted and the situation was resolved within twenty minutes which I greatly appreciate. Please cox, fix your normal channels for customer help- it shouldn’t be that complicated. Until then I guess if you have a problem, leave a review. And thank you to those who helped me finally get this resolved. I do appreciate it.
Original review *: Absolutely horrible costumer service, not because I didn’t talk to some nice people, but because no one was empowered to help me by the company itself. I was being charged for two accounts after they assisted us in CHANGING from a personal plan to a business plan. But instead they continued to charge us for two plans and would not fix it. We have ONE router. THEY were the ones that helped us change our plan over. This makes no sense. I spent no less than three hours on the phone being transferred from person to person to person - only to receive an email that we had to talk to someone else. WHO???? Read moreWent to this location to pick up a router to set up my internet. I moved in on July 1st, so that’s the day I went. The guy there said they had some delays and it would come in 3-4 days, but later in our interaction he said 7-8 days. It’s been 6 days (over 4 business days) and my order has not even been shipped yet. I am highly disappointed in both the lack of communication from Cox about my equipment order and the absolute incompetent state of their supply chain. When I check my confirmation email from the order I don’t have a tracking number yet because they haven’t done anything for my order yet. I’ve been on work from home for over a week without internet trying to hotspot from my cellular data and it is excruciating. Please improve transparency of shipping/ order tracking and tell your employees to stick to one expected arrival date. Would not choose Cox again if I had a choice, but unfortunately my apartment rental agency has a bulk account with them. Stay away from Cox. Also competing companies, take notes this is a great opportunity to do the bare minimum and still blow your inept competition out of the water. Companies like this have grown far...
