The store is lovely, a bit overpriced, but it is Santa Fe, but there’s an eclectic variety of things. For that you would get four stars. But I’m giving 2 because the service was awful. The young lady that originally helped me make the purchase, for my client was charming, however my experience after that was totally lackluster. I don’t know the name of the associate but she has blonde hair and is extremely rude when I called to let them know that my contractor actually wasn’t going to be coming the day we had originally planned to pick up the piece, she got a horrible attitude and literally said “so we did all that work for nothing“ Are you kidding me? No ma’am - you did your job because I paid over $2000 for the piece and it’s your job to get it ready for pickup. It should’ve been taken off the floor when I purchased it to begin with. I could have, not called at all and just not shown up. And when I called to let them know when he was coming, I got the same bad attitude from the same older, blond associate. When my contractor did go to pick it up, it was again, the same woman with an awful attitude, as if he was bothering her at her job and she was rude to him as well. Maybe she’s not aware that she works in retail? And that her focus should be her customers. Also, I heard another associate bad-mouthing a customer in the smaller store. Saying - she never purchases anything so we just ignore her and try to appease her. Wth? Get over yourselves. This is why Santa Fe gets the “snotty bourgeois” label because many people there (not all) seem to think they are above everybody, newsflash you live in a small town in New Mexico that is over priced and frankly over-rated. It’s a shame because I’ve been in the design industry for over 20 years and have a very strong clientele, I doubt I will be back as there are other places with...
Read moreBad customer service by one of the associate. While they had good collections, the associate was in some urgency to ask us to buy and leave.
We had our kids walk around the store with us. They sat on a chair and we immediately asked them to stand up. This is when the associate started following us where ever we went. We had selected 4 items and were thinking of getting a vase. We had two options in mind - blue and orange and were discussing what to select. This is when she started being rude and was asking if we are planning to buy the items we selected. I told her that we will get the cabinet and table lamp and not the other items for now but are discussing on the vase and asked her to wait to checkout.
She went ahead and billed us for the two items and asked us to pay. We told her that we are still thinking of vase and asked to give us sometime.
She replied she didnt hear because the kids were loud and distracting. When we said that was not the case, she blamed the music in the store.
She was always following us while the other customers where doing the same as us. We were the only one buying things while others just checked on prices and left
While they had good collections, they lost sales due to bad customer experience. We immediatley left just...
Read moreWe came into The Raven today and I was horrified to see that they had about 8-10 small exotic birds in an antique bird cage, many of whom were clearly sick.
One bird’s eye was so infected, red and swollen that it was completely closed. Another bird had plucked out some of its feathers and was only standing with one of its legs; the other leg looked infected.
There were at least three species of birds, and 8-10 individuals in a small cage for the number of birds. Food was thrown onto the wire-barred floor of the cage. The cage was in the middle of the store, and the birds were so clearly stressed out with all the people milling around them.
This seems like a simple case of animal neglect and it was frankly depressing. In 2024, if you want to use animals to attract new clients, you need to treat the animals with care and respect. If you can’t spend the time and money to take care of them, please bring them to an animal rescue group or find someone who can.
We will not be...
