Pros: I was given a $25 gift card and for that $25 on a Tuesday I was able to get a ticket, a hot dog, a regular sized soda and a Bunch-a-Crunch for roughly that amount and had 56 cents left to spare. Honestly, thatās not a bad deal.
Cons: The āDo It Yourselfā ticket station is a joke and a pain in the butt to navigate. For something thatās supposed to be easy, it took me at least 10 minutes to navigate and let me skip Points for Members screen (I waited a long time for a skip option to even appear on the screen). There is zero hospitality from the staff and most of them either just ignore you or give you the aura of āHurry up and leaveā whenever you interact with them. So pretty rude regardless. An absolute mess of a theater too. The lobby is the worst when it comes to piles of popcorn all over the floor and sticky surfaces. Not a single staff member was seen cleaning. There were two staff members by the soda machines but they were fiddling with a garbage can and a garbage bag. When I left the theater, they were still messing with the garbage can and bag in the same area. I guess Ronnieās pays employees to look as though they are doing something when theyāre really doing nothing. The mess gets worse when you go out into the hallways because thereās little piles of popcorn all over those floors too. I no joke saw a staff member with a broom and a dust pan in hand walk past 3 of these piles and instead of sweeping them up as he was in the hall, he instead walked into a back room for employees. The staff really donāt care about anything. I get into the theater during the preshow. It is PITCH BLACK inside. Not even the screen was playing lame Progressive ads at this point illuminated a single seat so I had to break out my flashlight to find out where on earth my seat was. The lights never came on when the movie was over either. Now Iām no expert in business, but Iām almost 100% sure this is a safety hazard. Like Iām pretty sure if anyone who sat in the seats where you have to go up the stairs to get to had tripped, fell and injured themselves to get to their seats has a lawsuit they could easily win here. I probably couldāve brought it up to the staff but based on their behavior Iām pretty sure theyād just blow it off or make up an excuse for it. Theyād probably do the same thing for the family who was talking most of my movie too.
Bottom Line: A decent bargain for a Tuesday I guess but for maybe the absolute worst movie theater going experience possible. The staff doesnāt care, everyone around you doesnāt care. If you care about watching movies in a theater, go elsewhere. At least youāll be treated better by staff and you are also 100% less likely to be in a dirty environment where you could gravely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all, I hate leaving this review, but my hopes are someone at Marcus sees this and does something about it. Last night, 8/2/24, I went to the IMAX 3D 7pm showing of Wolverine and Deadpool. I, along with 50 or so more people sat there until 7:20 with the lights on and no movie. While all of us where there waiting, eating our food and popcorn, a swarm of gnats kept circling us all. I'd wave them off and they'd go to another patron, they'd wave them off and they'd go to another. At 7:20, after finishing my food, not sure of how many gnats I had ingested, and all of us grumbling about what was going on, I finally got up to find a manager. Finding a young lady at the concession counter, I kindly asked if she knew what was going on. She seemed surprised and got right on her walkie to get an answer. I went back and sat down in my seat, M14 to be exact. After a few minutes, an employee came in and told us they were having issues with the projector and our movie will start in just a couple of minutes. Before he could exit, it popped up on the screen. No apologies, or anything. So, finally at 7:30 we got to start watching the film. No trailers or anything, just straight into the film.
Now, with all of us grumbling the whole time, and swatting away gnats, many of us kept looking up into the projection booth to see if there was any indication of what was going on. There were no lights on, no movement, at any time that we could see. So, in other words, someone had dropped the ball and forgot to get someone in that booth to start the movie.
I've been going to Ronnie's since it was a drive in, and to this day, it has always been my favorite theater. Things like this have happened over the years, because sh!t just happens. But, there has always been someone to come in and explain what's happening in a timely manner, an employee at the exit to apologize and give their appreciation for our patience, or to hand out free movie passes, or food vouchers, or something for our inconvenience. This time there was nothing. Now, I'm not one of those people who expects free stuff every time something little goes wrong, but this was kind of a big deal, and nobody there thought to even give us an apology. I will continue to go to Ronnie's as this was an isolated incident, but when things go wrong, try to do better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey're recliners remind me of my Grandpa's favorite recliner when I was a kid. They're comfy too. There's plenty of leg room and the employees are friendly. Last time I visited my cousin had invited me and purchased tickets online. We were able to skip the line and go right in. We brought snacks and they didn't care. We got comfortable and chatted quietly throughout the previews. About 10 minutes before the movie would begin 3 ladies walk up and say we're in their seats! I have the printout so I pull it out and show them our seat numbers and we stay put. They move to other seats and one of them goes out to clear up the issue. After they left, I began to read the entire paper from top to bottom because I can't understand how this could happen. Sure enough although we're in the correct seats, my cousin had purchased our tickets for the wrong date. SMH. I told her and prepared to move. She kept saying, no let's wait and make them put us out. šš¤ššššš¶š How about nah! As I walked out to find the woman, she and the manager were entering the theatre. I showed them the printout and apologized for the error then asked the manager was there a way for us to watch the movie today at this time. He allowed us to go and get tickets for the show in different seats. They gave us a complementary popcorn-for joining their club. When we got to our seats-drum roll..........-there was someone sitting there!! ššš š š ššš šI can't make this up. Then he shows me his ticket stub, although he's in the correct seat, it's for a movie showing 3 hours prior. Lol. I kindly ask him to get up and do whatever he gotta do, but we're about to sit down. He goes and gets a new ticket from them and comes back. Lol. All in all it was a great experience and I'd visit again! We go all the time now. It's our favorite theatre. They are nice and I...
