Office Bar SRQ — Restaurant in Sarasota

If I could give -5 stars I would. I am rarely dissatisfied enough to write a review. As a local I've visited this bar many times over the last few years and never had anything to complain about. I loved when Jerome was working there about a year or two ago. However my latest experience with this place was pure garbage. The male bar keep was very rude and had a huge chip on his shoulder. I reserved the upstairs for my birthday, about an hour and a half in I approach my boyfriend in a isolated corner for comfort regarding something I'd rather keep private, I have tears in my eyes but am not "crying" this male bartender then proceeds to approach us and say "you can't fight in here" my boyfriend said "we aren't fighting." To which he responds "well she's crying" no fighting was happening and for the bartender to assume he knew what was going on or what I was upset about is extremely offensive. Naturally my boyfriend tells him to mind his own business. Because ya know.... Mind your own business. The bartender tells his manager, who I booked my reservation through that he was threatening him and goes as far to call the police. I approach the manager and the bar keep is right behind her making outrageous claims. Tbh the whole thing seemed racially charged how quickly he jumped into a private and quiet matter with his eagerness to "call the cops." Nonetheless, me and my party of 20+ people promptly left and did not tip a dime. Myself, my boyfriend, and everyone in attendance will never return to this bar. It's a shame because I am a regular at other locations. If you want a bar where the staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming I would recommend Smokin...

I would never step foot here….First and last time….. The bartender ALEX WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL! He sucks at making drinks and is extremely rude!!!! My experience here was horrible….Tbh the whole thing seemed racially charged how quickly he jumped into a private matter with his eagerness to "call the cops." Nonetheless, Myself, my boyfriend, and everyone in attendance will never return to this bar. It's a shame because We are regulars at other locations. If you want a bar where the staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming I would go to Brewsters or somewhere else on Main Street…Also they don’t serve food! The big problem is the employees you have at this location. I believe if ALEX WAS OUT THE PICTURE IT WOULD BE A PLACE I WOULD ATTEND. Other than that DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME! You can’t even enjoy watching a game the bartender Alex makes slick unnecessary comments, is very disrespectful and everything bothers even if there’s noise..definitely no customer service...

Just had our first visit here. The bar wasn't very busy at 9 pm for karaoke Tuesday so my wife and I wanted to settle in by playing pool. When I asked for change for a dollar, the bartender immediately and rudely asked if we were going to start a tab. We waited until karaoke started, the DJ was friendly and obliging. After singing one song, the DJ announced that we could get a free shot and when we went to, the same bartender bregrudgingly said that since she hadn't seen us before she could give us the shot but we would have to have an open tab. We left shortly after and will not come back, as we just had just finished dinner with drinks. We wanted to try this place out but apparently if you're not wanting to get wasted on a weeknight before work, you won't be welcome. I don't...
