Yu Kids Island — Attraction in Schaumburg Township

First let me start off by saying I have been to this place a few times and have always found it to be very clean, and the girls that work there to be very friendly. Yesterday, unfortunately, I found the place to be over-crowded and very concerning. Since the weather wouldn’t permit me to bring my son to the park, I decided to bring him to Yu Kids at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. I guess everyone else had the same idea, because the place was jam packed! My 21 month old favors the bouncy and he typically spends most of his time there. Due to the amount of people, I needed to watch my son from a short distance. At the time, I didn’t mind too much as they had 2 members of their staff on the play area, as well as numerous parents. Boy was I mistaken! Because of the fact that the play area was too warm due to it being at capacity, they had the glass doors wide open (to the mall area). There was also a line out the door of people waiting to get in. Long story short, before I could realize it, my son had managed to run out, unstopped by any staff member or parent, past everyone waiting in line to get in, and got lost in the masses walking around Woodfield Mall on a Sunday afternoon. I asked the staff members for help after showing them a picture, but without sympathy they returned to doing what they were doing. When a few parents shared their concerns about the unlocked gate and wide open doors, the cashier, a rude Caucasian woman, bluntly said, “That is why you sign a waiver! You are responsible for watching your own kids!” Oddly enough, her daughter was sitting behind the counter drawing… Their doors are supposed to be closed to the mall and the gate was supposed to be childproofed. Sadly, anyone could have come in from the mall, taken a child and left; and their staff wouldn’t have cared. Needless to say, I will...

Read before you book a party.

I had my son’s birthday party at this place couple weeks ago. Before I paid $100 deposit for the party room N1, the room that my child liked, I requested the invoice. The room N1 had a glassy space for kids to play. I paid a deposit, got the invoice which specified that for the party we booked a room N1. The deposit for a room is mandatory and not refundable. Other rooms had a smaller size, no glassy windows. This is certainly not something I would consider worth paying for. At the morning of the event, I am coming into the room to decorate for the party and room N1 has been decorated for someone’s party. It turns out that the room that I booked was booked for someone else and decorated the day before. My invoice was changed without my consent, words ”room 1” crossed out by someone. Instead, the manager offered a little room without windows. Obviously, management was aware that we have many guests with children and would not say no. Some strangers walked into this party room, which was located very close to the playground’s entrance.

This experience is not what I had on my mind when I choose Yu Kids Schaumburg over its competitors. I would not recommend my friends and relatives bring their children for a party or just to play, taking into consideration such a double-booking policy. I am not coming again even for a playground.

As for the owner of this place I have a suggestion- don't be cheap and stop hustling. Next person that you would screw over can dispute the credit card transaction...

Yu Kids Island is an absolutely amazing place that I can wholeheartedly recommend to any parent looking for fantastic entertainment for their children 48 inches and under!

First of all, the atmosphere here is fantastic – full of colors, joy, and energy. From the moment you enter, both children and adults feel like they’re in a magical world of fun. Every corner is thoughtfully designed to stimulate children’s imagination and creativity.

The staff at Yu Kids Island is incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s clear that they truly care about making sure every child has an unforgettable experience. The team member behind the register was smiling and made me feel very welcome.

In the playground children have access to colorful slow movement toys that are not only fun but also help develop their motor skills and coordination.

One thing I did notice that there is always a team member walking around with a rag , duster or vacuum.

This is also the perfect place for hosting birthday parties. Yu Kids Island offers birthday packages that are very affordable and accommodating.The kids have a blast, and parents don’t have to worry about a thing – the staff takes care of everything you just bring the cake!
