Antique Trove — Attraction in Scottsdale

The cashier was beyond rude. Saying the item I was going to buy was not for sale it had a sticker with price on it. Ordering me to take it back where I found it in front of other clients. Completely embarrassing. Humiliating. I wanted to buy a coin that was under a glass and she was screamed “why do you want to buy it. It’s not authentic.” I am a collector. I am the one buying who cares?… tone and attitude were completely unprofessional.i recently had this disappointing encounter with the customer service. The representative I interacted with was not only unhelpful but also displayed a concerning level of disrespect. Their tone and attitude were completely unprofessional, making the entire experience unpleasant. Such behavior is unacceptable, and I hope the company addresses these issues to ensure a more respectful customer service approach in the future.

I love an antique store and anytime I can find one I try to stop in. While I do at times like to just walk around and check stuff out I typically come looking for specifics. Vinyls are my favorite, but old time home decor, vintage books etc are a weakness. My brother was with me this visit and looking specifically for coins. Unfortunately there was only one booth we could find and he felt the person who owned that booth (happened to be there) just was breathing down his neck. He felt over crowded and uncomfortable. He passed on even having the case opened. I didn’t find anything this time, but service for me was pretty good and the store was clean and didn’t have that musty smell you get at some spots. I felt some things were priced a bit steep. All in all a decent shop, but being so far from my home I don’t think...

So, I swung by Dutch Bros for a coffee, and that espresso rocket-fueled me right into the Antique Trove next door. I barely made it inside before that coffee hit DEFCON 1. Thank goodness for the big sign pointing to the restrooms, or I’d have been painting the aisles in brown.

The bathroom? A lifesaver. Clean, private, and equipped with air freshener, which was absolutely necessary given the… let’s just say… intensity of the situation. Whoever stocked that air freshener deserves a medal of valor.

Anyway, once my soul was reunited with my body, I had a chance to look around the store, and it’s amazing! So much cool stuff to explore—definitely worth a less chaotic second visit. I’ll be back later this week to pick up a vintage hand plane… and maybe a little less...
