UPDATE: So last night the Owner reached out to me via Facebook messenger to discuss my review. He apologized and he let me know he 100% agreed with me after reviewing the photos I posted and my review that the work done by his employees wasn’t acceptable. He offered to make it right and asked if my daughter would come back in and that he would take care of her personally and make her feel welcome and apologize to her. I was hesitant at first but after talking to my daughter we decided to keep an open mind. When we arrived he came outside to meet us, shook my hand and apologized to me. Offered drinks and sat with my daughter talking about school and stuff. He took care of her nails and she left smiling. She said they felt lighter, no longer hurt and the polish was on point! She was super happy and he even walked us out and followed up with me later in the evening. He even let me know to reach out to him personally when we were next going to come in and he would do my daughters nails personally. That was the experience we had been hoping for when we first came in so I am glad we gave them a second chance.
Original post: Ridiculous absolutely ridiculous! So I will give this place 1 star and that’s because of the woman I believe her name was Katherine that worked on my youngest daughter. My youngest is Autistic and this was her first time getting her nails done she was patient and kind with her and she deserves all the stars and more!!! However what ensued after is the reason for 1 star during my appointment the gentleman I will admit did a great job with my nails no issues however the one thing that bothered me and was disgusting was he kept repetitively coughing! I mean full on coughing on me not covering his mouth, saying excuse me or anything! It was gross! Next, as you can see in the photos my eldest as a treat got tips put on for an early Easter gift! She was so beyond excited but when she walked over she handed me a slip that read $125 and had oil all over her nails. She was on the verge of tears and I knew something was wrong. She immediately told me her nails hurt that she dug into the side of her nails so hard, she was bleeding on one nail and a couple of nails were angled up and if got caught on something would surely rip off! There was nail polish all over her hands and the nails just looked awful!! My daughter started to cry and apologize and I said no this is not acceptable and when I went to the woman at the counter she was like well you’ll have to wait also the managers not here and the same woman will have to fix them. I said absolutely not that’s ridiculous so after waiting a woman came and she sat down with her to fix them. She stripped the paint and at that time the original woman who would not stop staring at me got up and walked over to where my daughter was which made my daughter upset and she was shooed away by the woman fixing her nails. They spoke the woman next to her doing someone else’s nails started laughing and my daughter who already suffers from anxiety was so upset. When done she said they felt better but still nail polish all over her hands and just a hot mess but hey at least she wasn’t in pain anymore! At that point we wanted to be done they discounted us $25 and we just left!! I went here because a few people shared on Scottsdale Living on Facebook to go here. I have now shared my experience there and we won’t be back! Do better especially when asking people to spend so much money to get there nails done and since we passed 3 other nail places to get to you all. VERY...
Read moreNot gonna lie the nails are not bad but every time I walk in, I feel like it's an issue when I need to get my nails redone. Not sure if it's because I'm a single mom and I don't have a ton of money to tip. I understand they work in Scottsdale for a reason because people have money to blow unfortunately, that's not the case for everybody. I actually live in surprise I would travel an hour to get my nails done by them because I liked the outcome however, I'd rather take my business elsewhere to people who appreciate my business. Every time I would walk in the owner, Peter would not greet me or say hello, but he would greet the other customers who probably tip $50 each time right in front of my face despite not greeting me walking in a minute before the next person came in, EVERY TIME. Very disrespectful and rude. At first when I started going there, I was greeted, but as time went on and Peter realized I tip lightly, I would request him and NEVER got him even if I made an appointment with him. When I was paying, he would ask for how much tip I'm going to give the lady which is very weird to ask. Tip is 100% optional regardless. Also, he would always make jokes because I am attractive and I am single. He would always say, that I need to get a boyfriend to pay for my nails I'm assuming to give a bigger tip?? Just a weird way to put it "get a boyfriend so he can pay for your nails". I feel very uncomfortable going there. And when I go to get my nails done, I want to feel at ease and feel appreciated and pampered as every other nail place does for me but I do not feel that here at all. The woman owner also was always very rude, she was a white woman with red hair. I'm used to woman being jealous or mean to me for no reason, but when it comes to owning a business, you need to be a professional. Also, every time I would go in, they would charge me to take off my gel X nails, even though I get them done there and I am redoing them that same day. They should not charge to take off the nails that they had done previously. I am a big influence as women are always asking about where I buy my stuff at or where I get my nails done at. I will not recommend to friends or family to go to classy nails. As a matter of fact, I found a place in surprise that does them just as beautiful, and the owners are polite and respectful towards everyone. When everyone asks about my nails, I will refer...
Read moreI had an interesting experience here. It was my first time in and I made an appointment for Gel-X new set and called and left them know I'd need my current set taken off. I walked in and was immediately greeted but given no direction so I awkwardly walked to a lady I thought was waving at me, but was for the lady behind me... so walked back to the front and Peter the Manager had me sit with him. I sat down and let him know I had only been in Scottsdale a few days and was looking for a new salon. I let him know I wanted the Gel-X full set and he proceeded to talk about how the person who did my nails previously did a terrible job... it was very awkward... then said you can do a fill... I told him I think a full set would be better after all his comments. He goes silent then 3 mins later says yes you need a full set. He didn't sound like he wanted to do it and when I mentioned I'm trying to grow my real nails so don't want them cut he mentioned the Gel-X might be long. I'm okay with that but I'm officially uncomfortable with him doing them so I say let's just do dip on my real nails. He's okay with that and though I've never had so much blue dip all over my fingers during the process my nails turn out looking good! I'm pleased. Where it got weird is towards the end he starts being friendly.... he was on his cellphone and not speaking to me most of the appt. But at the end, he asks about my relationship, asks if I like the set and color, and starts saying how pretty the blue is... just nice so I'm feeling ok again. He asked how I found the salon and I told himGrouponn andGooglee. He asked to see so I gave him my phone showing the Google page. He tells me to go wash my hands and scrub them well so I'm at the sink and I see him clicking things on my phone which I thought was weird... I looked and this man gave himself a 5-star review without my consent.... now I'm even more skeptical of the reviews here... it's so strange but I do like my nails... unsure if I'll return as it was a strange experience.
I do love the diversity. It was nice to see 2 black women doing nails when I walked in. I may have given 5 stars if he hadn't done it himself......
