Update - I do not normally spend time on things like this. In fact, this is my only negative review for a business. However, the way this has been handled is baffling. I messaged them, as requested, my information so they could find my appointment. No response until today, a month later, simply offering me 20 % off and not even acknowledging anything from my experience, yet publicly they are trying to say this is not a real review. Disappointing, and I will not be returning.
My first and last time visiting this salon. I called to schedule my appointment and asked for hard gel with a simple nail art (one dot on each nail). I was confirmed. I then came in and was checked in. I confirmed at the front the appointment was for hard gel, because the lady checking me in said I was there for dip. I had a photo of the design ready. The nail tech yelled half way across the room from the desk that she was ready for me, and walked away. I had to walk around and find where she was. I showed her the photo, which was a very simple, short design. She multiple times tried to talk me into something different or adding things because the design I wanted was "too easy and simple". I told her that is all I wanted. She then proceeded to tell me I needed tips added to make my fingers look longer. I told her that is okay, I did not want the tips as I wanted my nails to be as short as possible this time. After going back and forth with her (I have never ever had to argue with a service provider about what I wish to have) I finally just told her if she thinks I have to have the tips that fine, but I want them cut down as short as possible so I do not see a reason to put them on. She put them on and when she went to cut them did not go very short. I asked her to go shorter and again got the run-around. She kept saying she would make them shorter later - never did. She then pulled out acrylic and I told her I wanted the hard gel. She put the acrylic away and walked away without saying a word. She then comes back to proceed with the hard gel and the entire service was showing my hands and nails to the nail tech next to her, laughing. Very uncomfortable situation for me, and I could not just enjoy my appointment. When it was time to put the color on (I wanted a light pink/nude), we again went back and forth. She showed me my options, I chose one, and she argued that it was not a good pick. I proceeded to tell her that is what I wanted. I understand my design is maybe not what she wanted to do, not as much fun, and not what she liked, but I have never had to argue so much about what I am asking for. The design ended up being pretty, but again, a lot longer than I even thought about wanting so now they will probably need to be done sooner than I planned as well. To top everything off, she was using tools out of an old altoid box - fine, I get it. However, the box was very dirty, she did not clean the tools before putting them back in with all of the dust, and that just tells me that she did not clean them before using them on me either. Over all sanitation of the salon seems fine, but the tools they are using, or maybe just that specific nail tech are NOT.
I usually do not take the time to write reviews, however I am extremely disappointed with my experience and will certainly not be going back.. Maybe this is just an issue of this particular nail tech, however I do not feel like risking it to try another...
Read moreThis is a fantastic nail salon/spa with services for men, women, and special options for young "princesses". Prices to suit all wallets: from simple mani/ pedi, to a mini spa for your feet, to body waxes, eyebrow shaping and tinting, etc.
I spent a very relaxing 90 minutes in an electric massage recliner (there are multiples available) having a simple $19 manicure and a more expansive set of $40 spa services for my feet and legs. 2 recliners over a "30 something" gentleman had a pedicure, in the back station area a sophisticated grandmother received a chair massage from her service person, and others around the facility received various grooming options within the expansive, elegant environment.
"Service" and "cleanliness" are key focus areas. I was checked upon multiple times... and offered complimentary beverages (including a mimosa- yay!) I was particularly impressed with the focus on cleanliness from one use disposable liners in the pedicure soaking tubs to the same with hot wax treatments, and there was conscious intentionality to contain client "debris" with tidy disposal.
This was a relaxing, reasonably priced respite for myself that I will definitely repeat. It would make a fabulous destination for a girls outing... and I'm already planning a micro "date" for me and my husband. I can also see my niece having a special "mommy" / daughter mani day - or my brother having a "granddad" / granddaughter pedicure day. Lucky for all of us, there's another location in Tempe....
Read moreI tried. I really tried to give them a chance. I had 1 set of nails done so horribly, I was invited to come back for a refresh the next day. Came and my nails were improved only visibly. I WAS GOING ON VACATION AND HAD NO OTHER CHOICE TO DEAL WITH WHAT WAS LEFT.
By the time it came for fill, half of the tips-were broken and peeling (by the 10th day)
I returned to give them a shot at redemption but once again left with nails that could have been installed at Walmart or by a student, honestly. The performance was subpar from a “luxury” spa that charges $70 for a basic pedicure with no add-ons.
I regress, my second set of nails was done so bad, the tech at my new salon scoffed and asked me who put these on because they weren’t even “pretty”
PLEASE skip this salon.
I was referred by an employee and from what I’ve heard, the management is HORRIBLE to the techs and front desk girls. DO. NOT. DO. BUSINESS. HERE.
to reply to you- 12/14/23 Actually, yes, I was your client. My first set of nails was installed by Duke, and then I was placed with Kevin to replace the nails. Each time I was serviced, the nails were awful. If you are going to insist that I was not your client, I will gladly negotiate with my bank and have my charges returned. I spent at least $300 between both of my services, and my nails were horrible and my experience was less than desirable. Which was sad because I was referred by one of your own STAFF. GLADLY will...
