Okay, the cruise terminal was a very quick process, once inside. But the Discovery princess did not satisfy our family. This was indeed our first time cruising with Princess. Our cabin was not suitable for our family . 15 year old son, Dad, and Mom. I can honestly say this was the worst cruise I've ever been on. Beds were not comfortable at all. My son and husband complained all through the night. Oh, and by the way, I had to sleep in my mother's cabin at night because the one bed that came out of the ceiling was too small for my son. So after talking to my cabin steward, he just says there is nothing we can do. Every time we walk into that cabin, I just feel like these people just rob us. I literally had been 10 months off of my previous cruise, which, by the way, cost me more than this cruise. But the service was top-notch. My cabin steward knew it was three people in our cabin, for the duration of our cruise he would only give us two face towels. Go figure!! This was our 10 cruise. And Princess Cruise, you have lost an entire family due to the lack of ability to care about the people you serve. There were so many other things I observed while aboard Discovery Princess, but I would run out of space. To the people who would be reading this review, ask questions when booking with Princess because after they have your money, nobody can help you with anything. Oh, I should say this my dining experience was excellent. For months before even boarding, my family of 12 was reserved for the Juneau Dining Room. And the day we boarded May 25, 2025, they just changed our dining reservation from Juneau to Skagway. Do you think they sent a message or a phone call , Nope, nothing , that's why I said after they get your money, they are done with you. Princess Cruises will not get another dime of my hard earned money. I will not pay you to treat me and my...
Read moreI can't even call it managed chaos. It was just a chaotic mess. There was no clear signage directing people where/how to drop luggage. Absolutely NO effort to manage social distance, even the staff were arguing about how to direct the throngs of people trying to get in line. Despite the preboard instructions provided telling people not to arrive early, it was quite evident people had shown up long before their appoint show time based on the thousands of people in line when we arrived, many who complained of the hours they had already been waiting. They appeared to be severely understaffed for the number of people who had arrived that morning to board the two ships in Port. Bottom line, it was an exercise in frustration and a breeding ground for sickness given the hacking and coughing that was occurring IN LINE. I don't think we will spend the money to fly to Seattle for this kind of...
Read moreAs frequent cruisers, I can honestly say that this was the worst cruiseport we've ever sailed. I hope they were just having a bad day but we were there for two of them at both embarkation and departure 8 days apart. Not only were lines ridiculously long (even though we had scheduled arrival times) but workers seemed not to be able to communicate. When we did witness employee interactions, they were rude and condescending to one another. They were also very short with customers. Porters would selectively choose people from the back of long lines and move them to the front. The whole operation was disorganized and frenetic. I cannot not recommend this cruiseport based on these two experiences. I do hope they get their act together though. Our cruise to Alaska was amazing other than our experiences...
