My experience with Target Optical was amazing. I had visited this location for the first time about 6 months ago and briefly browsed their sunglasses section while shopping and was asked if I needed help with anything by Robert, one of the opticians. When I went in for my exam this month, Robert actually remembered me from all those months ago which I thought was impressive.
The eye exam went smoothly, and Dr. Wang was friendly and informative. She took into account which contact lenses I have previously and adjusted my current prescription using the same brand, as I told her they had been the most comfortable contacts I've tried over the past 8 years. Dr. Wang also asked me if I drove to the appointment today and if I would be comfortable with having my eyes dilated. Since I did drive, I was allowed to skip the dilation if I didn't have any concerns. I appreciated that she considered my own comfort and did not push any further.
After the exam, I sat down with Robert again to go over costs and such. There were a couple of hiccups with my insurance and he promptly called my insurance and sorted everything out for me, something he did not have to do as I see that as a patient's responsibility to handle their own insurance. I was also interested in purchasing sunglasses as well and Robert was able to pull all kinds of discounts and I ended up getting a pair of custom Raybans for 50% off! Plus he made sure to walk me through how to receive an additional $50 mail in rebate for the brand of contacts I purchased. He was one of the most friendly and genuine sales associates I've ever encountered.
All in all, great first experience with Target Optical and will most definitely continue to get eye exams and...
Read moreI would honestly put zero stars, but it won't let me. I'm very upset, especially considering that I've been to Dr. Wang at Target Optical before and had a fine experience. However this experience was so disastrous that others would probably find it comical. Unfortunately I am still too angry to find it humorous. When I had my appointment they gave me contacts to try and told me to call and let them know if they were good so they could write my prescription. So I called them 3 days later to say it was good. They said I could come pick up the prescription when convenient. So two days later I came to target optical and was told that my prescription wasn't finalized. I asked why since they'd said I could come pick it up 2 days ago and didn't get an answer. I was told I could wait half an hour til the doctor was available and could finish my prescription. I said I couldn't wait but could come the next day to pick it up. They said that was fine. I called the next day to make sure before I went in and was told, sorry your prescription isn't here, the doctor left it at her other office. I asked why when they knew I was coming in, and was again not given any answers. I was finally able to pick it up two days after that! Then I go to order contacts and realize that they put down the wrong first name on my prescription making it invalid. Are you freaking kidding me? You literally cannot get a single thing right! I will never ever be coming back here. What the hell am I paying...
Read moreEdit: In a previous review, I mistakenly said I had seen Dr. Wang and not Dr. Tran. My apologies!
After my initial exam, I found that the new prescription was giving me headaches and I was not able to see well. I came back to have my prescription double checked, but Dr. Tran was generally dismissive of my concerns. When he checked my eyes again, I asked him if the numbers were different and he said they were "not that different." It took some prodding for him to actually tell me what the numbers were. After this second exam, I took home new contacts and found that I was still having issues. I ended up paying out of pocket to see a different optometrist. The new optometrist listened to my concerns and gave me a prescription which is working out fine. I even found out during this appointment that Dr. Tran had given me incorrect information about my...
