A Deeply Hurtful Experience Due to Racist Behavior.
I’ve never felt more humiliated or disrespected than during my recent visit to Central Saloon in Seattle. My girlfriend and her friend were at the bar when four guys approached them and sat down at their table. I arrived about half an hour later and sat down next to my girlfriend, but things quickly took a disturbing turn.
Two of the men were outwardly rude, refusing to acknowledge me, and later, one of them aggressively pulled my chair back and told me to leave the table. We tried to brush it off, but it only escalated. The same guy continued to harass me, cussing at me and making racist comments while his buddy joined in. When I calmly tried to address the situation, the aggression continued, with one of them pressing his body against me in a threatening manner.
My girlfriend returned to diffuse the situation, but instead of getting help from the staff, the bouncer approached me as if I was causing a problem. I explained what had been happening, but his response was dismissive, saying that he hadn't seen anything, so there was nothing he could do.
As we left, I approached the doorman and told him that it’s his job to ensure that intoxicated patrons aren't harassing others—especially in a racist manner. Rather than addressing my concerns, both the bouncer and another staff member became hostile towards me, telling me to leave if I didn’t like it and never come back. It was beyond disappointing to see staff allow and seemingly condone this racist behavior.
I’ve never been more humiliated in public, and what was meant to be a fun evening turned into one of the most hurtful experiences I've ever had. I cannot, in good conscience, return to or recommend Central Saloon to anyone. To the owners: I urge you to address this toxic environment and hold your staff accountable for allowing and supporting such...
Read moreVisited on a trip from the UK, being fans of grunge and to check out the place where much of it all began. We were not disappointed! On a boring (unless you're on holiday!) Tuesday we got to see 3 fabulous acts, the last being an inedible performance from the talented Savannah Woods and band. Truly incredible performance and credit to the sound - it wasn't way too loud as often small venues can be, just perfect. Shame so few people were in, but no complaints from us
Then a note about the food. Credit to the pit master. Seattle is an expensive city where unbelievably it's really difficult to get food after 9pm! Mercifully we got there at 8.50 just before the shutters came up, because the bbq duvet was top notch. Not only great tasting but excellent value for the quality.
OK, there was a cover charge, but don't be put off. Eat, drink, enjoy...
Read moreTried ordering a bloody marry and was just glared at by the bartender who sternly shook their head at me but didnt say a word. I was so taken aback that I didn't know what else to order and he just walked away without offering any suggestions. I eventually just ordered what my friend next to me ordered and had a really awkward time feeling like the bartender hated life. Would have spent a lot of money had it been a more welcoming atmosphere.

I'm not sure what you mean by "did you ask him to bloody marry you?" Your phrasing seems like I did something of poor choice or dirty when I was simply trying to order my favorite drink. I can clearly see from your lack of acknowledgment and consideration to our experience that this is not a bar we will be...
