I was their lead cook, and a resident volunteer when a new mgmt team came on board, in or about ‘07. I would leave too soon, transferring to an unnamed (on purpose) Lutheran transitional shelter in the neighborhood of Pioneer Square. They are very near the waterfront - take caution, homeless vets! That was my own error, as the world turned. They demanded full control over my case mgmt, rather than cooperation with my existing case manager; associated with the VA - and Jim was quite competent as well. They didn’t care, evidently they wanted full credit - the direct result was another year being homeless! If only I had stayed on at the Bread, I’d have had a much better outcome?

Great organization helping the homeless of Seattle. If you're in need of shelter go to Nightwatch between 9 and 11 for a spot there. Bread of Life also welcomes anyone for lunch and dinner during the week at noon and 6 I believe. They also have clothes for men on Fridays from to 2 PM and for women Thursday and Wednesday I believe from 1-2PM. Double check the times before planning a visit.

The Spirit at work. A well structured, transformational program to get people across the 'pond' intact, and ready for a blessed life. Best of Seattle. Historic Landmark. Amazing Volunteers. Great Staff. Involved Stakeholders. Enjoy the clip 🌇🌆⛵🌊

If you are a veteran with a good heart, do not go here. They gave me no information on procedures nor supplied proper bedding. Apparently if you have a job and don’t make it in before 11, you’re stuck outside. If you work three days in a row then you get kicked out. Unbeknownst to me, they are supposed to take your left behinds as a donation and strip your bed and throw personal items away. When I arrived, as I told them I would because I couldn’t get i things by myself, the guys at the front desk acted like they did not know who I was. After a brief argument they proceeded to the room to get my things to gather my things. Upon leaving I noticed my luggage was extremely light. they said that they packed everything and that everything else was thrown in the trash. they stole my items and they show no respect for war veterans. then they ask me “what do you think we can do about it because your things are already gone? how do we proceed from here? What do you want to do?” I didn’t know, I had just lost every piece of clothing I had and my roommate had on my shirt and my shoes in his laundry bag. And my only option is “get some clothes out of the left behind box.” Though, they said that they threw all of my items in the trash. I never received a copy nor did they receive a signed copy of the orientation documents because no one told me about one. they argued that they followed every procedure and are stating that all of my things were donated. but my bed was in the manner; but I still had documents...

It is a very good place, you will find programs, breakfast, food, a place for sleeping, storage service, mailing service, shower service. At 9:30 AM you will find food is coming from Starbucks, e.g. chocolate croissant, coffe, etc... You will probably find sandwiches and another kind of food at middle of the day too. You will sleep in a double bed cabin, the first two nights the User will need to register, with any ID (drive licences, passport, passport card, etc) the two nights are free but after of two nights you must pay 5 UDS per night and you can just pay with debit or credit card, you can not pay with cash. The price of Storage service is 35 USD, the mailing service...
