Nice walk with steep trails. Inaccessible areas and a brook hidden below a ravine. Needs access into some areas that are waste spaces. I like the natural states but is too difficult for wheelchair people because of narrow steep pathways.There's no open areas to picnic or even sit because of the plants covering all the ground floor. Frink Park connects to Leschi Park which has a well kept grass area although it's a little steep. This a wild area. I would suggest the brook have the culvert removed and brush cleared to its natural state. I could hear the sounds of it but only saw it under a bridge and the ugly metal culvert going under a pathway.Roads are well traveled by bicyclists but some roads have no sidewalks...
Read moreThis is as natural a pocket of forested environment as you are likely to find in an urban location. Within walking distance of Lake Washington (nearby Lawton Park has a teeny tiny public access, but water views are everywhere around here). Great walking, and near the S Lane St Hillclimb if you're out for exercise.
You are bound to see or at least hear wildlife: racoon, rabbit, birds. One couple just leaving was excited about seeing a "spotted owl," though based on habitat, the bolder Barred Owl was more likely (they look similar). Great urban birding opportunity if you come early or later in the day! I love this place. Be prepared for hills and sometimes seasonal...
Read moreLove Frink Park. This place not only make you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere. It is indeed a good trail for running or strolling along. I love being on this trail during Autumn. You can hear and see the birds are singing, the leaves are dazzling, the trees are swerving, the coziness of autumn colors, the sunlight sunshining thru each leaves and the refreshing air breezing thru your face....
