Hair Party — Local services in Seattle

I have only been coming to Hair Party for a few months now, but I'm really impressed by Laurel's work. My hair can definitely be a challenge -- I have long, curly hair with a fair amount of chemical damage from highlights over the years, and I'm going grey. In our first couple appointments that focused on color correction, Laurel carefully figured out how best to combine covering my greys while harmonizing with the colors that were already in my hair. It was a project, but she really nailed it and now I just go in every ~6 weeks to keep covering the greys.

She also encouraged me to change up the type of hair cut I get, to great results! While I had been getting a cut that emphasized length and layers at a previous salon, Laurel suggested getting a softer shape that frames my face better. I am really happy with the results and will continue to trust her guidance in the future.

I have been seeing Laurel for a couple years now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about her and the experience I get each time I come in. Her salon, which she designed and set up herself, is so stylish it makes me want to take pictures for a future dream home. I am not super decisive about what I like to do with my hair, so Laurel and I always talk through it. Since I have long, thick, hair with loose curls, she usually dry cuts it. Throughout the appointments, she is always incredibly attentive and focused on making sure every detail is perfect. Her attention to detail and skill with scissors is impressive, and I always leave the salon feeling like a million dollars. But beyond her technical expertise, she always takes the time to get to know me and make conversation, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, I can't recommend Laurel enough. I’ve been getting my hair cut by Laurel at Hair Party for about a year and a half now. Right away in 2021 I really appreciated how Laurel took extra of care to make sure everything was very safe and clean (extra washing of hands, masking, extra sanitizing, feet booties to keep the floors clean of mud, and even used gentle medical tape to secure my face mask so it didn’t impede her ability to cut my hair).

This last summer I’ve been traveling a lot to weddings and other public events, and Laurel has kept me looking fresh and camera-ready for every trip. I love that she offers a quick trim between regular appointments. Overall I’m very pleased with my experience. The private hair studio on the first floor is a real treat to go to every month. The decor is calm, yet bright, which I love during the cold, rainy season. Laurel always has hilarious anecdotes to share during our appointments, yet always has an eye for detail and gives me the best haircuts....
