Park surrounded by houses and other small businesses. Lots of construction going on. Decently clean restrooms. Only saw one homeless tent in the area, but overall a clean area to walk, take your kids to play on the swings,or to play with your dog. There is a play structure and basketball court and large field to play Frisbee and catch football.

Not the most exciting and fun playgrounds in the city. There is a playfield with two diamonds, a small playground and a couple of tennis courts. The park looks a bit old but at least no tents onsite or homeless roaming around. The restrooms are temporarily closed but there are a few porta potties placed in the park.

Hard to argue with a good park. Water wading pool on warm days in the summer, baseball and T-ball games in early summer, play structures and courts (basketball court, pickleball courts) year round - thank you Seattle parks/rec department!

I have to agree with the other Local Guides about the homeless people in and around the playground. Mostly they’re around the playground; however those that are around are literally sitting inside of RVs and vans that are parked along the perimeter of the playground in a way that is somewhat alarming since they —the homeless people in their vans and RVs—are seemingly equipped to pull a snatch-and-grab on any wayward toddler that wanders too close. Not at all suggesting that any of those unfortunate souls are intending to do that or that they are likely featured guest on some sex offender registry. Not seeing any of that just saying I get it I don’t have kids, but I get it. It’s unnerving.

It’s like a Grimm Brothers fairytale waiting to happen out there. Gilman Playground might as well be called “Hansel and Gretel Gilman Playground” or [insert awful bloody gory German...

This cleaned- up park contains 2 ball fields with lots of green space behind and beside. In the spring, it's been comfortable just watching ball teams of young players. In the corner, far from the ball games, is a nicely developed play for the younger crowd. In another corner are 4 tennis courts--now apparently taken over by pickle ball. Clearly intended as a venue for locals, the park doesn't appear to have much nearby on-střeet parking. There's construction , of course, but if it's the usual single-bedroom apartments, there probably won't be the kids to outfit those baseball teams needed for those 2 fields. Of course, none of the 4 teams we saw square off there in late April was from nearby communities either. There are some 40 baseball...
