Sacred Rain just completed this beautiful new mural on their building and while it is gorgeous - what's really special about this place is what's inside. They have a stunning sanctuary with co-ed clothing optional space appointed with immaculate showers and locker facilities and an outdoor space with dry sauna, outdoor cooling showers and in-ground hot tub. For those sunny days there are deck chairs and chaise loungers where you can soak in the sun, read your favorite book or connect with friends, family and other guests. It's a contemplative space where you can escape from the world and relax, recharge and feel revitalized. All are welcome in this non-sexualized space. It not just feels safe it is safe. Those brothers and sisters of mine that are queer and trans are always welcome. The are many open-minded allies that always are kind, supportive and accepting. I have taken advantage of classes - they have a great meditation class it the inside upstairs community space. I have see many of the massage therapists and while Renatta and Eric are my personal faves...you cannot get a bad massage here. Open. Discreet. Friendly. Loving. When in Ballard (visiting or outside the area) or if you are local this is a special place and it, indeed, feels sacred. Which is they Sacred Rain is such an inspired name for this amazing space and the services they provide!

Visited today between 1130-1400 with my daughter. We had a stellar experience enjoying the deck, spa, and sauna. All facilities are very well kept and immaculately clean. The showers had dispensers with soap, shampoo and conditioner. Blow dryer available. Keyless lockers for your belongings. We were given a towel and cotton sarong to use. Next time I'll bring an extra towel from home. There were a couple water coolers and a hot tea station at the entrance with Stash teabags. If you want to relax, this is the place.

Very nice facility with Spa. Clothing is optional means Co-Ed without clothes. Kind of made me a little uncomfortable (not much I could get use it to it) but if that’s what you like it’s a good fit. My only thing is that I wanted some peace and quiet and the hot tub had a women in it that simply would not shut up and a guy showing himself off talking with her. So it ruined the experience for me.

Well.... since you asked I will gladly expand on the 1 star rating.

You have a policy of canceling straight men for doing absolutely nothing wrong! So I would happily worn ALL straight men to avoid going here! Please may this be your warning!

You canceled my partner of 24 years because of a lie from an angry man-hating Karen! You even told him that you believed he did nothing wrong but canceled him anyways?! If this is a tolerant "healing" center than siding with an older lady that vocally talks about hating men in the steam room over someone that was simply being nice and taken the wrong way. The lady that was the original issue obviously has emotional and mental health problems with men. All he did wrong was give her trip advice for her and her girlfriend to do on an island that we know a lot about and love!

After that the moment she lost it was at the group meditation where the meditation guide had the group hold hands and it happened to be a...... wait for it....... man (my partner) next to her. That catalyst that she lost it and started false rumors (aka lies) about him was on you guys. Anyone would have clearly seen that he had nothing to do with her or "Karen's" problems. You saw it clearly too, but you canceled him anyways! A happy customer that spent thousands of dollars to you, came there for 2 1/2 years, never did anything wrong, no complaints and promoted your business! I waited to say anything hoping you would make it right, its been 4 months and there were nothing but crickets! What kind of healing center is this that allows angry women to openly talk about hating half the population in a "sacred healing center" and then cancel that which they hate because you care more about you money than a loyal customer! Only 1 lady stopped showing up months prior to you cancelingmy boyfriend, the meditation lady that has major mental issues, no others stopped coming to your location. Man-hating 'Karen' started spreading the rumors but still continued to show up. The other 2 clucking hens paddle board with the liar and are victims to (not my boyfriend, but the mental patient that can't be in a room with men, and gets off on being a victim).

Again..... never doing anything wrong except for being a male at you facility. That is exactly why you are a 1 star business! You could have made this right. Everyone else that was a regular knew he was innocent. A few even cried that you kicked him out as he was a friend to many. He has NEVER disrespected women, and has often stood up for them above and beyond!

Good luck to you and all those contemplating going to this business...

I always forget, and am glad to remember how therapeutic sauna is especially when complemented by a fantastic cold bucket of water. It’s pretty fun to pull the chain and get splashed after the heat of the sauna, and then to take a break on the sun deck as a transition to integrate it all. I remember reading something that said a great way to get out of your head is to challenge yourself physically because then that becomes the thing to focus on. That shift means we free up the ruminating part of our minds and that, combined with the fact that emotions are energy in motion came up for me when I realized how I felt reset after a 30 minute sauna broken up into 4 parts with breaks and cold splashes. I’m pretty hyper vigilant so to be able to feel my jaw relax and my whole being loosen its grip while also feeling all this fresh circulation; I mean really it’s a way to feel alive. So what a thing to have a space that’s designed to hold space for bodies to release all these things we hold on to, and with plenty of space for transitioning, so even when you’re ready to go you can chill in the wave room and find some gems of beautiful print magazines and books with some hot tea (or go in a yoga room with giant bean bags, or upstairs with a cozy couch and more space to decompress). The staff are all lovely, welcoming, and funny, and for me laughter helps with the relaxing too. After a few experiences here I see the sacred in Sacred Rain as a sacred structure to shift out of thinking and into feeling. Also, while I’m not exactly in touch with sauna pricing systems, my understanding is that Sacred Rain offers the biggest bang for your buck. I think the last thing I want to share for anyone scoping it out is that being here is really a fantastic way to clock the before and after of a session, because it’s so easy to normalize stress and it really takes time to unwind. We are always arriving from someplace else and just like a plane needs time to descend or a car needs to slow approaching a stop sign, the same for us or we get whiplash or crash. So wishing all newbies and visitors a spacious, sacred, soak and sauna and...

Yesterday was around our 5th or 6th trip to Ballard for a massage at Sacred Rain. It may very well be our last !! The lady up front has no business in a customer service role much less at a relaxing spa environment. It’s not like it was our first trip here and we caught someone on a bad day. This is every time we’ve gone and looking at other people’s post, glad it’s just not us.

She has been rude , condescending, and very unfriendly each and every trip to the spa we have done. She single-handedly kills the entire relaxing and rejuvenating vibe that this place should have.

Yesterday we were greeted with her standard look like we interrupted her IG scrolling to check someone with about as much enthusiasm as wet rug. She need proceeds to chase my girlfriend down the hall making her feel like she stole something just to make sure my gf didn’t enter the forbidden bathroom area bc we weren’t using the spa deck this time. Really ?? Can’t even change into a comfortable robe for an expensive massage ?? Then if that wasn’t enough she tried to see why my gf was even back there bc her appointment was at 4:30pm ( it was 3:55pm) when in actuality the appointment was in 5 min and my gf was just trying to be on time.

I googled it and we pass 42 other massage locations on our way from Burien to Ballard to get to this Spa. We go to Habitute in Ballard more frequently bc of the high level of service you get from the time you enter the door there at there spa. So we are no stranger to making thr journey to Ballard.

This is no reflection on the quality of the massage or the spa at Sacred Rain in general. We have kept coming back until now bc of the great massage therapists and the atmosphere. My massage yesterday was amazing!! Massage therapist- 5 stars ! Front staff - google won’t let me remove the one start she didn’t earn.

However, you shouldn’t have to brave the front desk in order to enjoy it. This time the front desk attendant ruined the experience and I don’t think we will be the last ones she inflicts her vibe killing...
