My wife and I decided to make a trip over to Fair Isle brewing to try out La Marea. We have been following them on instagram and finally made a trip to try out the food. We are super happy we made the trip because this food is amazing! My wife took her first bite of her tuna tostada and said " this has to be one of the best things I've ever had" and she wasn't lying. That tostada was amazing and had so much flavor! She ended up going back for another one. I ordered the Mixta tostada and the aguachile with Scallops and passion fruit Habanero. The mixta tostada was so good and the flavors were insane. The aguachile was really good too. I wish it was spicer but the habanero and passion fruit was really good.
We sat at the bar and the chef was talking to us and telling us about his journey from pop up to full time kitchen for fair isle. Very excited to see what other food items they come up with because they are making some great food! I can't wait to keep coming back for delicious beer and even more...

They do oysters every Monday, and I’ve realized that oysters should really always come with a passionfruit sauce and lime— it’s the perfect kick of fruity sweetness and acidity. Alternating that and the aguachile makes me feel like I’m on a beach.
The hamachi is what I go with if I’m craving something a little less spicy, it has subtle hints of savory and salt.
The ahi tuna tostada is the thing I basically always order— it’s spicy, savory, delicately flavored. It’s a really good balance of smoky, fruity chile morita, with top grade tuna. It’s like a nice sashimi dinner but with additional complex flavors.
One thing I’ve loved in the year I’ve been coming is hearing a lot more Spanish as they get more buzz, and watched them grow into their community. It’s a nice place to talk to people at the bar and spend an...
Read moreGot 2 tostadas: atun and hamachi. Super good. Fresh. Beautiful. The spice was delicious. Give them each 5 stars. Very happy for Fair Isle to have such a yummy addition to their space.
Take away a star though for how long of a wait for them. Probably 30+ minutes. I'd be more understanding if it was super busy, but it wasn't. At one point we wondered if our buzzer was broken, so I went to check. When I got back and waited in line behind 1 person, the chef was casually chatting with some people seated at the counter. I totally get engaging with those around you, but would value from better time management. When I pointed out we had to split (baby clock was ticking), I was told the hamachi was ready. And the chef stopped talking and finished the atun...
