Good park. Kinda basic but has all the regular amenities every other park has. A place to picnic, a bike/foot path to walk or ride bikes on, a playground with swings, (one seat for infants) some wildlife in the many climable trees in the park. A word of warning: I did witness a raccoon heading home after a long night of foraging into one of these trees and heard several other animals hunkering down as well, one early morning, around dusk. So, make sure your adventurous kiddos don't disturb whatever creatures that may be sleeping in the trees about the park! One plus is that there ARE bathrooms open from dawn til dusk basically. No pond or lake or any body of water that many of the other Seattle parks have, which could be a plus if you worry about your little ones getting away from you because of the other kids demanding your attention. Not too big yet not too small, so again, could be a very good thing depending on how many children you're wrangling today. All around, a great basic park with all the expected things a park...
Read moreSandel Park is very nice, n family friendly park. After playing for many hours, you can dash 2blocks to either Safeway or fredmyers to refuel or close by many other small shops. This park has bathroom, a full basketball court, swings on the side, a mini trial that goes around the park for the kids to bike around. Picnic tables for bday, gathering n parties... there are After school catch n little girls/Boys soccer practice. Just be careful with the steep green slide, just NOT for little kids..bit steep! Overall great park, MUST WATCH FOR YOUR KIDS AS THERE USED TO BE FEW OF THE HOMELESS VANS...i am always worried about my kids being kidnapped by them if I don't keep my eyes on the kids the entire time.. PARENTS OFF YOUR PHONE AND ON YOUR KIDS..you will not regret...
Read moreI visited this park Friday morning around 9:00 a.m. before taking my dog to the vet. Plenty of green grass and paved areas to walk through the park and around it. There are bathrooms but they are repairing the women's bathroom so there are porta potties next to the basketball courts. The men's bathrooms are open for now. There are multiple seating areas and a playground. Some of the benches are facing the street and not the park itself but they are in shaded areas. There are no doggy bags so please bring your own if you decide to take the dog(s) for a walk. While I was visiting there were two people who did not leash their dogs but they were trained and the owners made sure to distance their dogs from me and others who had their dogs leashed. Very quiet...
