This review is not reflective of Northgate Mall itself or any particular store within the mall. But I had an unsettling experience with someone from security that I want to bring up.
On Tuesday , Jan 15 around 10 or 1030 I stopped by Northgate mall. Immediately I needed to use the restroom so I bee-lined for it carrying my 3 yr old. Over by the food court, I went to the family restroom which is kind of like a little private stall with a door that locks. So, we get in there, I put my daughter down and I am trying to use the restroom.
While my pants are down and I'm on the toilet...someone starts tapping on the door with an object and loudly asking if there was someone in there saying they are security. I say "yes, I'm in here" and I made sure someone would be able to hear me. Mind you none else was in the family restroom area or the parent lounge. So it was pretty quiet. And my daughter started talking...there is NO WAY someone wouldn't have been able to tell someone was in the stall.
Then I start to panic because I hear keys rustling and again he asks if someone is in there so I rush up and hold the lock and I have to yell out "YES I AM IN HERE!!!!" Only to get a sheepish "oh....I......" and he trailed of mumbling something. The fact that I was able to hear him mumbling and he acted like he didnt hear me the first time I said I was in there was enough for me to feel upset.
I gather my things and my daughter and I walk out to see no one. Theres no person from security or any other person for that matter was there.
I went and sat on the couch in there with my daughter because I received a call and as I am sitting there on the phone some man who I am assuming was security because he had a hand held just walked in looked at me like a deer in headlights and said hi and walked out. Never saw him again while I was there.
This experience made me extremely uncomfortable. I even looked around there was no sign or any indication that no one should have been in there and I felt like I was watched and followed into the restroom for no reason. (Or maybe there was a reason) But it was not...
Read moreBest Buy here is 👍. I returned often, and would make another major purchase here.
Staff were extremely informative, helpful, courteous, attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and went the extra mile when I asked at least 100 questions for each item 😆 They let me browse without badgering me as well. Squad at help desk worked on my computer problems with acceptable wait time, and exceptional time spent on me (with the exception of one or 2 staff.)
Girl helping with my tech issues on old computer and basic functions of my new MAC was compassionate, caring, and took action to resolve all my issues, concerns, questions without making me feel rushed, or unintelligent as other places I've been have. (I've been to many across the states, particularly in RI and FL.) This is by far one of the best. No one was annoyed with me for being indecisive and put more energy into helping.
Dude at MAC station was awesome, seemed experienced. Only a few times staff gave me conflicting information, and each staff person seemed knowledgeable to help in different areas, and were upfront in acknowledging their expertise in specific areas.
My opinion is most of the staff enjoy their jobs and management has things under control (at least in the store the few weeks I was in/out.) I complimented the manager, assistant manager and made sure he knew.
Before visiting, I read conflicting reviews online about the experiences here, but mine were nothing short of an enjoyable experience. How many of us can say that about spending money and shopping for a new flat screen, sound bar, MAC, Photoshop/Lightroom, camera, phone items...etc...big...
Read moreThere's not a lot of stores here since they started construction of the ice rink right in the middle of the building. Instead of coming to "shop around", you really only come here if you need something specific from a specific store.
There are only a few parts of the building where you can actually go inside (e.g. by the Old Navy). Most places still there are accessible from entrances facing outside.
With the construction they closed the big stores (Macy's, Nordstrom's, JC Penney) and the bulk of smaller stores (Eddie Bauer, Torrid, Fuego, etc.). I heard once that the food court is open, but I have not verified. Seems silly that any of the food stalls would still be there since there's no foot traffic.
With the construction you cannot get from the north end (by the Old Navy) to the south end (by the food court/Red Robin) without having to walk outside the building, which is a pain. See my screen shot where I've roughly mapped the closed area.
Stores with entrances outside like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Barnes & Noble (yes, it still exists), Ulta, and Nordstrom Rack plus restaurants like Azteca and Red Robin are open. I think Gene Juarez is...
