Seattle | Tengu Sushi: A Budget-Friendly Conveyor Belt Sushi Spot 🍣

Came back here after they remodeled and wanted to see what is up with all the reviews saying they changed or how their quality depreciated. I always come to Tengu to get affordable decent sushi on a conveyer belt. They still deliver that decent quality fish for the price you are paying for. Yes, some menu items here and there changed but it is still Tengu at its core. Yes, the hot food items changed but there are also new additions. I love how they offered so much more options in terms of sushi sets you wanna ordered. You can get like 8 or 6 pieces of the belt items in bulk or can just get it directly from the belt in reduced quantities. I love how we can also ask the chef to seared any type of fish that we wanted. Would be coming back to Tengu for sure since they don't break your wallet when compared to other conveyer belt sushi places in the Seattle/Bellevue area while you still get decent quality fish. Compared to Sushi Me Tengu isn't as expensive or they don't give you out small cuts of fish and pieces like they do at Kura. I love Tengu for still being affordable and their great service. Also, remodeling is a plus since the interior is much more spacious and cleaner than before.

This is a true Gem in Seattle folks!!! I'm a fan of all Sushi style establishments, but I can quickly identify a proper value added location that offers next level freshness and flavor, Tengu Sushi did not dissapoint to say the least! I tried both in dining ordering options by first selecting the house named roll through the server (who was as friendly and inviting as the chefs) followed by the "grab a plate" method. I ordered the Tengu Roll at the beginning uderstanding the time it takes to make fresh... It was 9 HEARTY PEICES OF WELL BALANCED FLAVOR PERFECTION! The combination of different heat profiles, fresh Salmon, Tuna and the mix of a freshly tempura Roll literally was perfection. After placing my deep fried selection of the Tengu Roll, I only had to wait a few minutes to see a unique 7 spiced, seared tuna with the chefs added "touches" that had to be an honor to try, and it truly was! One of the absolutely, most satisfying bite of quality Sushi that I've tasted in years! Intrinsically balanced spices, pleasantly accessorized with the right toppings, I enjoyed two plates it was that delicious! If the photos and feedback doesn't speak for themselves, Tengu will!

I came in today to dine in with my mother at about 12.35 pm and we requested for a booth from the gentleman who was seating us, he said he can not give us a booth as he is a worried it’ll get busy and there won’t be any place for groups of 4, which is understandable.

However, at 1 pm, there were two other gentlemen who walked in and the same staff member who sat us, had no problem seating the two men who walked in after us at a booth ! Only 2 people at a booth but he told us is he can not simply seat 2 people at a booth!

When I saw this, I wanted to talk to him and ask him why the other two men got to sit at the booth but he never came back to us or was barely on the floor (he went into the kitchen and we were done eating and had to leave, I think he realised we noticed this incident).

We asked the other staff member, why we were treated differently and why the other two men got to sit at a booth, and he said the person who sat us should have let us sit at a booth, we asked this server, what the name was of the person who sat us and he said as I understood, phea (I don’t know how to spell it). I asked him if there was a manger on duty to talk to them, but he said there was no manger at that time.

It’s very very disappointing! The server who sat us, never returned to us to even bring the bill, I wanted to get some drinks, but since we were sat in the corner and the person who sat us dint even look at us, I couldn’t get it. It was the other server who had to bring us the bill and boxes!

I do not want to accuse anyone of being racist but I believe we were racially profiled ! The person who sat us, sat us in the corner (which I don’t mind) but for him to seat the 2 white gentleman after us in a booth ! Just 30 mins after saying he can not give us a booth, nor did he once look at us (when I wanted to order drinks) or come to us to give the bill or the boxes and the other boy had to do it, I was annoyed, I was trying to treat my mother and this is the service or treatment we get, very disappointing because I come here very often and this is the first time I saw this boy who sat us (I come during weekdays). The boy who I see most often was the one who gave us the bill and boxes finally because the one who sat us did not care or did not even look at us.

I am so disappointed, I honestly loved this place ! I come here literally atleast...

Hello, Came in today w a party of 3. We were seated quickly as it was early in the afternoon. As we sat down we noticed they were not gonna come back to ask us if we needed anything else after just pouring water, we waited 20 mins and it wasn’t busy but we were trying to give them at least a chance before being those ppl that have to stop someone and ask to order. Eventually after 20-25 mins we requested our order which was literally 3 dips of spicy mayo, sake and yakisoba. He comes back with one dip and the sake then walks away quickly without even asking if I want anything else.. I didn’t even get the chance to ask for more dip and I was hoping maybe he just could only carry the yakisoba and 1 mayo and he was bringing out more ( I was wrong). The veggie yakisoba was bland, can’t really say it had veggies because it had a little onion, small amount of carrot and 3 individual pieces of broccoli… After they served us our order they never checked on us, and they just kept staring even though we were not complaining and we were a very small quiet 3 person family. I’m giving 2 stars because my son liked the fact they have a belt and we appreciated being seated quickly. The service was unacceptable and if I’m being honest I felt that they were checking on other people, offering them tea and asking if they needed anything but kept walking right by us the entire time. I do feel judged. We were kind and I feel as if I should’ve spoke up. I will take my...

Update: After about 16 trips with zero complaints I finally ran into an issue. One plate of sushi we got tasted like the fish had gone off. We immediately went to the workers and explained the situation, and they removed the offending fish and marked it off of our check. While that experience was unpleasant it was such a rare and well dealt with occurrence that it hasn't fouled my opinion of the restaurant. I'll update more if this continues to happen, but I believe it was a fluke. This restaurant still gets 5 stars from me easily.

Tldr: I've been here 8 times so far and the sushi is always delicious, the workers are great, the restaurant is clean but the aesthetic and atmosphere are a bit boring. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious sushi.

The sushi here has been excellent every time I've come. Very flavorful, always quite fresh, good selection... Not much to say other than that this is my favorite sushi place currently. The seared 7 spice tuna is my favorite.

The employees have always been quite responsive, fast, polite... Everything I could ask for in a service worker.

The atmosphere is the one place I feel this restaurant falls a bit short. The restaurant is always clean, bright, well maintained. The aesthetic of it all is just a bit boring for my tastes... It feels a bit sterile and.. just boring I guess. The food really does make the restaurant well worth the visit, but I'd be thrilled to see them...
