For those looking for easy going comfort, talk and some sports appeal- it's a perfect balance for anyone, especially foodies!
The staff was exuberant and intentionally respectful as I entered and as I waited at a table. The hostess was ear to ear with a big smile and nice and really cool too! I even met the owner and she's got an awesome history in the Seattle culinary culture scene. She's living her dream, doing her thing so well. She's the whole package, kind as hell, easy to talk with, loves her menu, LOVES her people! Her food, it's mostly Italian and inventive with homemade pizza dough, arugula and beautiful southern Italian classics and some pub standards to boot. She has fun and she glowed! She's positive and beams of youthful, contagious radiance. She's business minded and she's got sincere, beautiful, determined eyes and a fun style to herself. A fortunate staff gets to work with her. That includes an excellent waiter who noticed I was thirsty and went out of his way and section to take care of me. If you read this, my man, thank you! You're great at this restaurant thing. You help run the place because you are positive, talkative and thoughtful.
So bring your wife, the girls or just the guys or go solo. It's open late too. Guys like myself, not very good at being in a mall for very long? -Directions from Light Rail-
*Board the Light Rail and take a seat, because you're only a straight shot of 17 minutes away from downtown and a 3 minute walk to this pub, bub! Off the train at Northgate Park and Ride, it's the safest stop, one of the cleanest and easy to navigate. Go down two levels, it's very fast. Look for Regal Cinema, it's to your left. Your entrance to the mall is straight ahead at 12 o'clock, that's East. Once you walk there, it's a short walk, sidewalk all the to the right hand corner and that is where you will see the Watershed...
Read moreI came here off the recommendation of a friend and saw many positive reviews, so I figured to give it a shot when I was in the area.
Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow (there were 3 tables total, and 2 were close to cashing out when I was sat.) I set aside the timing because I wasn't in a rush, but the place increasingly got worse the longer I stayed. I had three different people come up to the table at varying times during the service, so I am not precisely sure who was supposed to be waiting on me or why it took 4 different people to wait on a table for 4. The place was an absolute ghost town 30 minutes into our service and there were plenty of workers, however my food (same as the others with me) came after they had finished their meals. No lie, 20 minutes later for the same exact meal. I honestly thought the chef had just walked out mid-shift. It was difficult getting the attention of anyone that worked there, yet the host had plenty of time to check the text messages on her phone. It took a while to get silverware and the checks. One of the waitresses had a bit of an attitude and then attempted to argue with me, which was incredibly unprofessional.
The price did not match the food, quality, or service. And unfortunately I'm unwilling to try it again. It seemed to be a trifecta of bad things during my visit- and quite honestly, I would have had a more fulfilling and much cheaper meal at Domino's.
Typically I don't like to leave negative reviews, and I like to give places a second chance. But too many things went wrong during this visit. And coming from the service industry I give people a lot of leniency on things, but this just wasn't it.
I am glad that other people have had positive experiences here. And I hope that nobody has the same experience I did. Whether it was a one-time fluke or not - I won't be back. But I do believe that there are enough positive reviews for others to...
Read moreIn 12 years I have not had a more disappointing experience at a Seattle pub or restaurant. I call at 9:30 to make sure the kitchen is still open since they close at 11:30. The young man who answers the phone says, “the kitchen doesn’t close until 10.” Perfect. We get there at 9:40 and the hostess says, “I’m sorry, the kitchen’s closing early”. The young man who had answered the phone must have recognized my voice and says, “oh hi, I’m sorry, let me go talk to the kitchen”. They reluctantly seat us (they don’t close for another hour and 20 minutes!) and our “server” Mary rushes over and says to my wife and I, “sorry GUYS, the kitchen’s closing can I get your order now and get your drink order later?” Ok. We order, then she takes our drink menu without letting us order drinks. She quickly brings our barely warm food out along with the wrong dessert. When I point out the dessert she says, “oh sorry I must have put your order in wrong. But the kitchen’s closed already so they can’t make the right one — a cinnamon and sugar pretzel! At this point it’s 9:59!!! Then we finally get our drinks, a “gold rush” and a “mezcal Paloma”. Both are pathetic excuses for cocktails, actually the worst cocktails I have ever had anywhere, EVER. Watered down, unbalanced, served in a beer glass. While we are doing our best to enjoy the food and drinks, we watch Mary publicly humiliate the customer next to us because the hostess seated her in the bar without her having her ID. Except they have closed the outside early too so there is nowhere else for her to sit. We also realize we never got napkins. Mary brings us paper napkins because apparently they don’t want to get their cloth napkins dirty since they are closing — in an hour!!! We can’t bare to finish our cocktail flavored water and decide to call it a night. Wow, won’t be back and will tell every person I ever meet to avoid Watershed. If I had a camel, it would...
