Thoroughly enjoyed walking this garden on the South Seattle Community College campus. Example of how less can sometimes be more. It is one of several small, adjacent gardens connected by gravel walking trails. Great escape from your routine for a peaceful stroll. Free parking available as well as a retail garden shop. A bit off the beaten path but worth the effort. It is far from grandiose, such as in Vancouver, Washington but it is a quiet respite from the city, has a nice Chinese courtyard and peaceful views of the city. It is populated on weekends by students and artists and even some performers of Chinese instruments. It is also attached, essentially, to a small arboretum. It is not for those in a hurry to catch the full flavor of Seattle but it is a nice place to just spend some quiet time in a non-Western setting. It is FREE and there is space to enjoy a peaceful lunch in a somewhat intimate setting where time can slow down for a while. It is not "Admission Worthy" but it is "Donation Worthy," if that will help you decide whether to spend some precious time or not. When finished, this will be the largest "Chinese Garden" outside of China itself. Since I was visiting towards the end of March, not too much was in bloom besides the cherry trees, but the winding paths, pergolas, evergreens,...
Read moreAstra Lumina is a waste of time and money. There is a huge line to get in, so even if you pick a time and arrive early, you are likely not going to get in at your selected start time. We spent 30 minutes in line outside. Way overbooked; it is so crowded inside that you have people literally on your butt the entire time. You feel rushed through. It is super noisy from the crowding, in no way is this an immersive experience. There is like maybe 5 or 6 things to see, that includes the lights on the grass, it only took 30 minutes, again rushed and crowded the entire time. You can only get food/beverage at the end as you are leaving, obviously overpriced and from a very, very limited, menu. Do not recommend. This should be a free parking, $10-$15 per person event. At the price of the tickets and parking, once you see the "experience", it seems like a joke. The only complaint I do not have that everyone else has is the waiver, they made it clear prior to purchasing the tickets and in the confirmation that this was required. It also says it multiple times on signs while you are waiting in line, even provides a QR code so you can be prepared and not delay lines. People just...

Astra Lumina was a great experience. My wife and I loved the place, there was self paced walking looking at different setups and light visuals. Each visual had an "Astral" equivalence that it's modeled after. You will take about 45 mins to finish the whole thing.
One thing to keep in mind, the tumbler and beverage option gives you a coupon while entering into the experience. Not the beverage itself. You're supposed to pick up the drink and tumbler at the end of the trail. Which was disappointing because having a hot beverage in hand while walking in such a freezing cold would've been nice.
It's worth your money. It's a good romantic setting too. So you can go there on date night or Valentine's or on your better half's birthday.
There is no restroom during the whole experience. There are some porta potties at the end of the experience. So make sure to finish your business...
