Definite do-not-miss if you're in the park. Lots of stairs to get up but they are very good. And the view on top is great (no glass, wire mesh). City all sides above tree line. Nice historical descriptions on the wall. It's a giant water tower inside, but they don't make water towers like this anymore (cheap domes in the sky in near every town, including yours if you look). Brickwork, rivetted steel plate, a real relic of 120yrs ago how things were done.

Definite go see. Gratis, facile parking...

Great historic spot to see Seattle from. This little park is great to just chill in, lots of walking area's, lots of picnic spots, lots of views. The water tower is a great little feature with only a small climb up the stairs to get to for some amazing views. Bring a camera! I would put aside 3 hours or so if you want to visit the tower, the gardens, the art museum, and the greenhouses. But if you want to visit just one, or just hang out, 30 min to an hour...

The Water Tower Observation Deck is on the top of the Water Tower in the Volunteer Park in Seattle. You have to walk up a lot of stairs that are going up there in a spiral around the Tower. There are two entrances an if you are up there is information about Seattle as well as the Tower in the walls. You can see a lot of the city through the windows, but the windows are barred so you can take good photos with a smartphone Kamera, but the lookout is...

The first time I saw the water tower it took me a moment to comprehend what I was looking at. Took me back to childhood and I thought I had found a castle. At first glance I didn't realize you can enter and walk up the circular staircase. It is a bit of a climb but it's worth it. I was then when it was cloudy and thought it was great and then saw the view on a clear day and one of the best views of the city. Awesome place.

Can't complain too much - it's a free view of the city! It's a nice big park with some good viewpoints of the city, including from this tower. We enjoyed the challenge of the 100+ steps to climb. However, it's a bit of the letdown at the top because the city is so far away.... the view at Kerry Park is much better! But if you're looking for a nice chance to stretch your legs and get a little exercise, this is it.
