It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, as I am not someone who enjoys complaining or writing one star reviews. However, sometimes things need to be said. First off my partner and I have been going to nuflours about once a week for the past half year since we found you to stock up on gluten-free bread, sweets, and savory pastries. We have also ordered for pick up a couple times and in general have always had a great experiences… up until Thanksgiving. For our gathering we were asked to bring a sweet pie. Being that my partner is gluten allergic we immediately thought to order from you. Our receipt shows that the pick up date was Thanksgiving day. I’m not sure why your system allowed this in the first place if you were going to be closed. Either way a refund should’ve been issued or we should’ve been called to reschedule for a different day as soon as the error was caught. Neither of these things happened and when the day arrived we came early that afternoon to find lights out and doors locked. Last minute plans had to be made to obtain new desserts to satisfy everyone’s dietary needs for the holiday party but in my mind I knew that we would be issued a refund being that this was not our fault. However, you coldly informed us no refund will be issued when my partner emailed asking for one being that we have no use for a $60 whole pie now that the holiday is over. We are a household of two. And tbh that was on y’all for allowing Thanksgiving day as a pick up date in the first place. You claim that you informed us but we have zero paper trail of that and neither of us recall anyone trying to reach out prior to that pick up date to inform us you would be closed that day. What upsets me most about this is that there was no trying to work with us in this situation. No, “we’re so sorry for the inconvenience that must’ve been very stressful. we understand you have no use for the pie now. Here’s your refund.” or even “unfortunately i’m so sorry but we don’t do refunds however would store credit for the $60 work?” I mean a genuine apology alone would’ve been nice. Not only did we not have the thing that we needed to bring for Thanksgiving and even purchased separately vanilla ice cream to put on top but this also landed us in the situation to waste time finding a replacement somewhere else on an already chaotic holiday where most businesses are closed. I’m not sure if you even care being that you haven’t responded to the last email but you have lost us as customers. Unless owners or management reach back out to us and make this right. I manage a restaurant in the area and have worked in customer service for decades. It’s rare that I ever complain because I usually give people the benefit of the doubt. I read the email and this is not how this should’ve been handled. Your response seemed heartless at best. This is the time of year where we do get stressed out but unfortunately in the service industry or any job that you’re dealing with people you should always lead with kindness, empathy, and a simple “I’m sorry” when any type of conflict arises. Phrase that somehow was lacking in your response email. Hoping you reach back out. Visiting your shop became part of my weekly routine that I will miss. But I can’t justify supporting you as a patron any further if I know this is how you run...

I do not get to visit their store front nearly as often as I would like due to living three hours away, but I try to visit as much as I can when I am in the Seattle area. In September though I was able to visit Seattle and attend the Nourished Festival, and one of the main reasons I purchased tickets was because I saw Nuflours was going to have their own booth. When I was there I got to try their dairy-free banana coconut muffin and it was delicious. I wish I had bought more than two as they were delicious. While at the Nourished Festival I also learned that they will be opening an online store soon, and that they have some wholesale products available for stores to sell. I contacted my local Natural Food Store and suggested that they carry items from Nuflours as I would love to be able to purchase products locally. I think it would also benefit my community, especially the individuals who have to eat gluten-free for health reasons. I hope I will start seeing Nuflour products for purchase at my local stores in the future.
*Thank you Nuflours for everything you do! You provide those who live in Washington with delicious quality baked items. I am thankful for businesses like yours as living with Celiac Disease is difficult, and it’s made even more difficult when living in a small town, but every time I get to visit your store I am beyond happy to see places catering to those who need or want to eat gluten-free.
2018 Experience: I was so excited when I walked in as everything is Gluten free. I have Celiac Disease and it’s hard to find anything that I can have especially when it comes to bakery style items. I was so happy to pick out a couple items as I live 3 hours away and was in town for a colonoscopy and endoscopy scheduled for the next morning. Everything looked delicious and the presentation of the items was easy to look at and I liked that the tag in front of each item said if something was vegan, dairy-free, contained nuts or not and so on. The staff was very friendly, helpful,...
Read moreThe food is pretty good here— a bit pricey but as someone who can’t tolerate gluten it used to be worth it. I have been eating here since 2019. I love the cheese danish, the eclair & the quiche the most. Unfortunately the service here currently is bad. The last several times I’ve tried to order from here either no one comes out from the back for up to 5+ minutes, they don’t acknowledge me as a guest, or are blatantly rude. The most recent time I tried to order from here will be my last. I went in on 10/5 in the early afternoon and there was an employee behind the counter who did not acknowledge me when I entered. They were just looking at the iPad but not entering anything into it. The person who was in front of me in line had taken a seat as I was walking in so it seemed the transaction was complete. After a minute or so I politely asked “are you ready to take my order?”. They refused to take my order and said “I’m in the middle of something!”. A few minutes later a customer came out from the bathroom and the employee asked them what they wanted. The customer said “I’m not ready yet” and asked me to order first. The employee said “No. I already entered in what he (pointing to the person who sat down) wanted so you need to order first” but she wasn’t ready and needed to talk to the person she was with. After letting this go on for another couple minutes I decided to leave. It’s unfortunate because they used to have 2 really incredible staff members that seem to no longer work there, but I don’t want to spend decent money somewhere I don’t...
