4 stars for food ( fresh ingredients and tasted good but skimpy on the chicken on the chicken fajitas) Zero star for awful service, attitude and behavior
Averaged about 2.5 to three stars.
The food was fresh and tasted good but service was really awful!!! We went to the zoo and this restaurant was nearby for lunch at around 2 pm and has good reviews. We parked our car on the side street next to the restaurant. My husband went inside the restaurant, placed the order and paid. He came back in the car and said the restaurant said the food will be ready in 15 minutes. After about 12 minutes I said I will go pick up the food since I needed to pee. I got in the restaurant, a lady said hi. I told her my husband ordered takeout. She went to the counter to check and I went to the restroom. After I got out of the restroom, she said we don't have anymore takeout orders and pointing to the POS machine. I said my husband came in to place the order. Another lady heard it and asked me for the name. I gave her my husband's name and she looked at some paper and said give me 10 minutes. I said ok, nothing more and stood aside in the corner. I saw her went to the POS machine printed a little receipt and took it in to the kitchen right behind the counter. I assumed she forgot to put the order through? Didn't said anything. Ten minutes is nothing. I then pulled out my phone to look at social media to pass the time. About ten minutes passed, I saw the lady was bagging the food so I put away my phone and stood by the counter. She said next time call so I can have 15 minutes to get ready. I was shocked! This is a case where people do something wrong but they didn't apologize and pointed the finger back at you and make it your fault. I was confused and said but my husband came in to place the order and I came in around the time to pick up the order? She was like you don't understand, I am trying to tell you that so you don't need to wait next time. Did she think I didn’t know any better or what? I said we did place the order ahead of time. She said ok then next time I will say 25 minutes instead of 15 minutes. I then said yes that's what restaurants do. They say whatever the time they need. Then she got irritated with me and said OK, HON, here is your food and pushed the bags. I picked up the bags and left because I see no reason wasting my time with this unreasonable lady trying to make it my fault when I didn't even say anything. I won't have write this review if it wasn't for her awful behavior. I haven't wrote a review in years. I have no respect for fake people like this. Also although the food is good, one of the items we ordered was chicken fajitas, you can barely find the chicken. It's mostly...
Read moreOh boy where to even start. Number one, if you have to PAY for chips and salsa that's a red flag right there. Number two, online said easy free street parking... You realize this is Seattle right off the highway (LITERALLY). No parking was found til two blocks away but we understood because it's Seattle, but online shouldn't say easy street parking. 3, you have to buy beans and rice SEPARATELY for 6$ EACH. 4, no kids menu, so had to order the small quesadilla. 5, I guess this is a pro in some ways but our food came within ten ish minutes but we couldn't eat it for another 15 minutes cuz it was SO HOT you couldn't hold the taco for longer than two seconds. The food was delicious eventually... thankfully. 6, bathroom you have to ask for them to unlock and it was TINY and dusty. Water pressure to wash your hands is horrible and you have to stand there for a few minutes so the water can actually clean off your hands. (Both men's and women's bathroom) 7, drinks... Where to start? No root beer or anything caffeine free. Mexican sodas of course. So we asked for water and when we received them it was lukewarm water with ice cubes that melted within a few minutes. Never have I been to a restaurant that the ice cubes melted before we finished the drinks. Had to ask for a refill later because we were never approached how we were doing or if we needed anything. 8, WARNING!! The pico, guac and salsa is really spicy and there's even a sign that says that when you walk in. 9, the table was WARPED that one side was taller than the opposite seats and wasn't secure to the ground. The whole table kept shifting at the slightest touch so the entire meal was us moving the table back and forth because itd move when we ate. 10 and last one but the serving size for asking for pico or quac (which is a few bucks by itself and youd think you'd get more...) is a TINY sauce bowl but I guess they think the spiciness of it makes up for the lack of what you get. Overall, I personally wouldn't believe the other reviews, it's lying when it says 10-20$ per person. It's literally like 10$ per ITEM on your plate. Ending up spending 85$ for my family of 3 and it was because we had to order beans and rice separately. The small quesadilla was 16$ and not to mention you have to pay for chips and salsa. I guess every single other Mexican restaurant I've been to spoiled people with free chips and salsa? We came in very hungry from doing the zoo for four hours and we weren't expecting this at all. We had high hopes off it's 4.7 rating.
So if you don't care waiting, warped tables and paying for literally everything individually and small portions go ahead. We're never...
Read moreSo me and my friend got there a bit late, within the posted hours, but late enough in the day when it would not be unexpected for the staff to be dragging a little, and instead the staff was friendly and even perky to talk with. Throughout the meal our waitress came over and talked with us, not just about food we were eating, but about how the place was family owned and which items are fully made in house vs the items that were bought locally and such. They also joked and laughed with us and our bad jokes. So service gets a gold star. Now the food... Chips are fried fresh on demand and brought out HOT. They have 4 in house made hot sauces to try along with a tasty salsa and a guacamole/salsa Verde mix plus a few of the normal bottled variety. All good. The food itself was great in flavor and mouth feel and every bite tasted fresh. Even the Spanish rice came across as something that was made in small batches so it did not sit around for long if at all. The plating of food even showed how much they care. A drizzle of this to color it up and some avocado over here to add another splash, etc. Not something I am used to seeing a Mexican restaurant. As my friend noted who was having enchiladas, which came as a set of 3 that he orders 2 types of, is that they even made it so that it was his single type was in the middle rather than on one end so that if he wanted he could easily mix flavors. The only thing that I really felt could be better would be with the décor as nothing really stands out, but they do have easy to see TVs in each if the dining areas, which in our case were tuned to soccer so I was happy. Just watch out for the chairs, as they sit lower than you might think. I am honestly looking forward to going back and bringing some more people with me and I do not say that lightly or about...
