Sebastopol Community Market — Attraction in Sebastopol

I have been going to Community market 6 years in a row while visiting to attend the National Heirloom Expo. This little store has been a great discovery. A nice choice of organic mostly local produce, plenty of healthy food choices on the shelves, some great local cider varieties and local apples eat. The food bar is great, also like the internet room with vintage skateboards on the wall, plus a bar for beverages a place to eat outside, a fireplace and a place for bands to play, I love being around this store, it is very well,named, it,s all about community and connections. The staff are a huge part of why to shop here. This year I had a severe injury from a car door that required ER visit, an employee named Raymond with paramedic training assisted me and got me wrapped up good enough to get my self to the ER in Santa Rosa, this was late, like 8 p.m., this experience sealed the deal for me with Community Market, I am very grateful to Raymond and the stellar staff at community market. My biggest wish/dream is to spend more time there or live near by at least part time. My advice for anyone traveling through Sebastopol is to stop and patronize this great small local market, I will choose this place over a big grocery store every time. Steve Ford -Wyo, and...

I love this store and I come here weekly to get water and groceries but I was extremely disappointed with inaction of its management today.

I informed an employee that while my daughter and I were loading my cart with bottles from my car, there was a man sitting in his car and very obviously staring at me. Normally I would just go about my day, but I locked eyes with him the entire stroll to the front door and he just kept staring at me. This was for a total of about 3-4 minutes as I was putting my daughter in the cart, getting my bag and loading bottles. This kind of this does not usually happen here. Feeling very uncomfortable and I shaken I asked for an employee to talk to management about asking him to leave as he was just sitting in his car smoking a cig. I drive from about 1 hour away and usually sit in my car with my daughter after we shop because it’s one of the only places we feel safe during covid time here in town. As I’m Writing this review in the parking lot the dude is still there, looking in my direction. Super disappointed.

I have devotedly shopped here twice weekly for many, many years with mostly rave experience until today when I went to purchase my biweekly chunk chicken for the poms ( my standard purchase for three years.) I ordered upon arrival greeted with “yes, we know your order.” After twenty minutes of shopping I stopped back to hear “Oh, just 5 minutes,”and then later, “oh, just a minute”. There were no other customers in site at the deli. After a very unnecessary wait the final conclusion was, “oh, we can’t sell you that . We need it for sandwiches!” I had driven from Rohnert Park to experience the mismanagement of their deli staff and to be discriminated against ! Hope others are treated with more respect and...
