I will be the first to say that this has been a nightmare for me. The Administrator is very professional and very helpful, however the attendants and staff that I have seen are nasty and their mannerisms are that of the street. I had an experience with a staff calling me the B word, just for asking a question. My daughter admitted something to me about a nurse calling her a poor horny thing and I believe her, because of the way they have come across and treated me as well. They are nasty and have no knowledge of how to care for the mentally ill. I have not see kindness or any kind of compassion for my daughters situation. I have seen rudeness and complete unprofessionalism. How is my daughter to get better if these are the type of people that are taking care of her. Mrs. Willis protects her staff no matter what. She will never let her staff be made derogatory. So now I have to go to the state to get help. I am a diversified person and come from a Hispanic background and have never seen such behavior. This is not a high school or a playground and this is certainly not your home. This is a mental facility where you have to act a certain way regardless of how extremely difficult the patient may be. I do not feel comfortable with the staff and know for a fact that they make my daughter uncomfortable and make comments. Expect cold answers from the doctor as well. The fact is that these people that are watching the patients are there for a paycheck and for time. Only have met 2 nurses that have been nice. What a great experience it was to be with them. Read moreCall the Receptionist at the MeadowView Hospital to try and get in touch with my friend who has been ill since August. I asked to him/her that I need to speak to a patient. The answer I got was in the most rude manner...CALL THE PAYPHONE! (Which I didn’t know existed) asked again that I am trying to reach the patient n before I could complete my sentence the receptionist yelled again CALL THE PAYPHONE. Thanks for giving me the number to the pay phone! This is my first time calling my friend! Didn’t know there was a pay phone number. If the receptionist is like that imagine how rude doctors and nurses will be at this hospital. These are the people we trust our loved ones with! Read moreI was at this hospital for 6 months ending Feb. 2024. Attendants need a lot more training and DIRECT supervision. Not from the head nurse on the floor but a trained attendant's supervisor. It seems like they all tell how to do things differently and most have poor social skills (not good in a Psychiatric Hospital). Sometimes I found the attendants worse than patients. The medical staff were poor at best and my doctor never followed up on my medical problems (hernia and more importantly cardiovascular problems). I found my psychologist and social worker and her assistant very helpful and professional, but they were the only positive people in addition to some therapists. Of all the attendants I would say only about 20% seemed to want to help patients and THAT is the reason they are supposed to be there. My treatment...
