A Culinary Journey Through Pakistan's Streets: Authentic Delights Await!
If you're a food lover and want to experience authentic Pakistani street food, visit Food Street in Secaucus, NJ. This place is a jewel of NJ, offering delicious, true-to-taste delights that will transport your taste buds to the bustling streets of Pakistan.
We started our gastronomic adventure with the Paratha Rolls and were immediately impressed by the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The flaky paratha was wrapped around a tantalizing filling that, in the case of the Beef Chapli Paratha Roll, featured succulent, spiced beef that left us craving more. Each bite will transport you to another galaxy, enhanced by their homemade sauces, and the paratha provides the perfect vessel for the rich, savory filling. Next, we tried the Malai Boti Paratha Roll, which was out of this world. We were struck by the harmonious blend of spices with mint and yogurt sauces.
The Gappa Chaat was a burst of flavors, creating a taste explosion in our mouths. The tangy tamarind chutney and the crunchiness paired with the softness of chickpeas designed a symphony of textures and tastes. It's a must-try for those who appreciate the complexity of street food flavors.
The Hack-Cut French Fries were a delight. The potatoes are hand-picked with the best of flavors in mind. The result is a twist on a classic, with the perfect balance of crispiness and seasoning. The unique "hack-cut" style allowed for an even distribution of flavors, making it an addictive side dish that complemented the main courses impeccably.
The Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich is perfect for those who love spicy food. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried to a satisfying crispiness, while the spices added a zesty punch that lingered on the palate. The sandwich was a testament to the chef's skill in balancing bold flavors.
No Pakistani Street food adventure is complete without a cup of Chai, and Food Street exceeded expectations. The aromatic blend, served in traditional chai glasses, transported us to the streets of Karachi! It was the ideal accompaniment to our meal, offering a comforting and familiar warmth.
Food Street's ambiance complements the cuisine's authenticity, with murals depicting Pakistani streets, rickshaws, and a portrait of Imran Khan. The murals are painted in vibrant colors and subtle nods to Pakistani street culture. The staff's warm hospitality added to the overall experience, making us feel like honored guests on this culinary journey.
In conclusion, Food Street is a haven for those seeking a genuine taste of Pakistan's street food. The meticulous attention to detail, commitment to quality ingredients, and bold flavors make this establishment a standout in the culinary scene. Get your family and friends together and head to Food Street to taste the rich flavor of Pakistani right from your...
Read moreFood is legitimately good, absolutely fresh, and uniquely Pakistani. Everything was tried on the menu, with nothing overpowering in spice, but more than enough to properly satisfy. Paratha rolls, Chaat, and homemade drinks such as the fresh sugar cane juice and lime soda were impressive. The paratha itself was clearly homemade layered, tasty, and devoid of excess grease. A constructive suggestion is to add to the menu only slightly, by adding a spicy version of a beef burger beyond the two traditional/classic tasting smash burgers they have. An example could be their answer to a grilled spicy BK Jani burger from Brooklyn.
Ultimately, this place is a long overdue Pakistani style eatery in northern NJ. There is a growing (and wanted) number of distinctly needed modern Pakistani restaurants opening up in NJ, and despite the many Pakistani’s living in NJ, it was head scratching we were missing these newer places north of the so called central divide.
This place clearly identifies as a non-pretentious, casual, fast-food location, with character. Pakistani art, photos of Lahore, and service is as good and friendly as any. I’ve been three times, and it’s the weekend where it can get tricky finding a seat as the place gets very busy. As a fast food joint, don’t expect reservations.
No vestibule as such, and therefore struggled to get a seat, but managed to eventually, within 15 minutes. Unlike other reviews, I find it silly that people attempt to bash any place, solely based on their frustration of getting a seat. Having an understanding that a new respected business can’t serve patrons beyond their seating capacity should be obvious, and the person waiting should instead tactfully/politely inform a current seated customer to vacate their respective seats to them after they finish. This is not a restaurant where a host guides a customer to a reserved seat. There are better things to do, than bashing a new local business online when nothing was egregious. Rather, have an appreciation that naturally there might be teething issues in a...
Read moreFell in love with this pakistani food joint when I found them on instagram because they have #IK wall moral. I wanted to dine in for so long, and finally, this Mother's Day, we got a chance. Food is as good as the ambiance. Very neat, cozy environment with good customer service. We were not super hamgry, but whatever we ordered was gone in minutes. Everything was steaming hot. Served to you right off the stove. Restaurant was moderately busy with 4 to 5 families dinning in. Not sure how's the wait time if they are super busy.
We ordered: 1.Chapli kebab roll 9/10 Beef double burger 8/10 3.Gappa chat 8/10 4.Karak chai 7/10 with complimentary nankhatai Imli alo bukhara sharbat 5/10 Paan 8/10 Jalebi 8/10
1st bite of chapli kebab burst a bomb of flavors. Loved the distinct tangy flavor. Kebab was so juicy.
Beef burger patty was well made with good balanced seasoning. My kids loved beef burgers so where ever we go we always get beef burger. I must say this one stand out cuz of flavor and freshness. Patty was well cooked but very juicy.
Gappa chat was good. We found it bit less on sauces and asked them if they can add more which they happily did. Just a little suggestion try adding more imli chutney with sprinkle of chaat masala and handful of fresh anaar to enhance the flavor. Even without all this it was good.
Imli alo bukhara sharbat was okay, could be better.
Karak chai was good, tasted fresh. You should also offer elaichi wali chai. Complimentary nan-khatai was a cherry on top. Loved well packed cute tiny cookie.
Jalebi was thin and not so sweet.
Paan was loaded with khopra, Gul- Qand and it tasted so fresh. Paan leaf was so soft.
We will definitely be coming back to try chicken burger and other 2 rolls along anda burger and other 2 drinks. Soon!!!
We should have more halal pakistani good quality street food joints in NYC/tri state area like...
