DON"T BOOK THIS PLACE!!! I’m really frustrated with my recent “stay” at this hotel. I only booked it for one night, but it was a total disaster from start to finish. When I arrived, the place had just been renovated and smelled strongly of paint. To top it off, there was no power, no heat, and no hot water. They said it was due to a power outage happened earlier that day, which is why they were doing manual checkin and couldn’t give us a key card. The elevator wasn’t working either, so we had to haul our luggage up to the second floor. A nice lady at the front desk opened the door of our room and helped us out with the luggage, but the rest of the staff didn’t seem to care much. The heater in the room was incredibly noisy at first, and I couldn’t imagine sleeping with that racket all night. Then, just when I thought things couldn’t get worse, we had another power outage. No heat, no hot water, and the room was freezing. We decided to head back to Anchorage that night, so we went to the front desk to cancel our stay. It took forever for the manager to show up and let us leave, and the staff never apologized or seemed to care about our situation. They told us to get in touch with Expedia for a refund, but the hotel hasn’t answered any of Expedia’s calls, so we’re still stuck without a refund. The staff said they forgot to turn the hot water back on after the power came back, but from what I’ve seen in other reviews, it seems like the hot water was still a problem for days. We finally got back to Anchorage at 1:30 a.m., but honestly, leaving was the best decision we could’ve made. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. The lack of basic amenities, awful customer service, and overall disregard for guests make it a place to avoid.
