I grew up here in Seward. My family, friends and I have rented the pavilion for family events for years. It serves well for large parties and can be reserved for your needs, alcohol permits can be obtained as well. As far as the camping spots, yes it's in city limits and are limited at best to cover the THOUSANDS of tourists that flow into town for the salmon fishing as it comes. Sure some spots are not as set up as others and not much for fire sites, as long as I've lived here it's first come first serve, so if you want to complain or nitpick what you settled for, please stop and think, the city of Seward could close off the beach to camping and make room for more commerce for tourists and businesses. I've seen allot of negative reviews about amenities, remember, your only one person who did not get what you wanted because a thousand other "yous"beat you to the punch. AND moat importantly, the city of Seward manages it, so call the Seward police for unruly campers being loud after...

It took 20 minutes to download the online website because of slow slow slow data signal at the location. There were no specific sites, so it was a free-for-all as far as parking. There were plenty of spaces, but people felt the need to park right against your door. There are only 2 or 3 picnic tables in the entire parking area so most don't get one of those either. The trash was overflowing and smelled bad. NO RULES HERE The dog owned by the camp host was ripping up the trash bags that had been left beside the dumpster. There was some sort of camp going on. There were a lot of teenagers, and they all used the outhouse at the same time, so you prayed you didn't get the urge right then. It was just weird. For 20.00 a night, you get a place to park, a pit toilet that was sometimes available, and...
Read moreWe recently bought a trailer and so last summer was our first time taking it to Seward. This RV park has various options based on your needs. We went far down the beach toward the playground because we have young children and they have electric hookups there. They also have a huge dumpster to throw away trash, which was nice on the last day. The camp host was very friendly. Our kids loved the park (reminds me of Girdwood because it's so personal and fun) and we took daily walks on the beachfront path which leads to the Sealife Center. We took strolls through downtown and there is a library tucked away in there with a fun...
