Spent $163k and the customer service was great until the payment cleared. Both 2 George's and Ranger have been the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced. The boat has been at 2 George's getting "repaired" for 7 months out of the 2 years I've had it. Every time a manager or someone agreed to repair it properly by the time I picked the boat up they either quit or were fired leaving the boat never fixed properly. The problems were about 50% defects in the ranger product and 50% faulty work done by 2 George's service neither ranger nor 2 George's have stood by their product and fixed it properly. This process has left me 7 months without a boat and I'm currently having to fix issues that they created on my own time and with my own money. Every time I dropped the boat off with extensive notes and photos so nothing would be missed and every time I got it back something else was broken or things were missed. Now they've played around so long, the boat is no longer under warranty and it still isn't working properly. I'm currently exploring every option to rectify the situation including just giving it back to the bank. 2 George's has done a lot of work on the boat and they've tried to fix most of it but Im confident they're not capable of fixing the boat properly. I would not take any boat to them for any type of service. I'm sure theyll have something smart to say about the review because their 20-something staff member was already being smart about everything but the bottom line here is I paid $163k for a boat that has not worked properly since the first day I picked it up and had sat in their service department for 7 months out of 2 years and George couldn't even have the courtesy to talk to me on the phone himself and offer any type of resolution. I think that can easily be considered unacceptable by anyone's standards.
2 George's: Cut out too much fiberglass leaving no support for electronics at dash 3 dash panels broken because of this and then they made me buy an aluminum one out of my pocket because it was "costing them too much money to replace it" Wired trolling motor wrong - twice Electronics wired wrong - twice Power pole charge wired wrong cracked Jack plate gauge sensor during calibration so it fell off during the first drive then made me replace it at my own cost loud screeching when starting motor with audio system on due to incorrect wiring re-wired something for the charger so the charger quit working and then the whole boat went bonkers, every light at the dash would light up and none of the switches would work. Vessel view wouldn't connect and trim tabs wouldn't work nearly tore off the keel guard while unloading the boat for testing and never fixed it binnacle was missing pieces and not working properly at first took paint off of the lower unit during service and then lied to me about it by trying to tell me they put the "stronger" paint on it....out of the spray can
Ranger within 2 months the atlas Jack plate relay went out and apparently only parts are covered by warranty Deck lid wrong color - 3 times Air voids in chines - twice Cracks in gel coat around center console Powder coat bubbling - twice Cap rail discolored after 2 months bildge pumps not activated by float switch when power is off did not put seals on hatch locks so they leaked water, 2 geroges never fixed this issue even though I brought it in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA friend and I went out on a boat for the afternoon just for a relaxing time a few months ago. Our boat was ready and fueled up easily (in the water when we needed it). There were folks around, but it was not rushed or crowded and it was a friendly and professional atmosphere. We had a great time on the water and on returning to the dock the boat was promptly lifted out to the racks (for cleaning) and then stored after we left. Lift driver was courteous and handled the boat/lift well. He didn't say much, but I don't always say much myself sometimes. Dock bathrooms were clean and easy to access. Parking was right there and I appreciated the shade trees where we were. We didn't hang around on-site that day, but there's a nice open deck to sit at near the dock we used if you didn't need to be elsewhere (aka, pick up someone from school, lol). Overall is was an easy and pleasant experience,. Although I didn't go out on the water on my most recent visit about a week ago, I was greeted when I walked in to the showroom and was able to relax in the seating area while my friend did their business.
Would definitely recommend and I'll continue to go here when I'm in town. I'd rather go to a well run local business than is able to tailor services to what the individual needs of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a surpise. We were having issues with our Carver 46MY that we are delivering to Lake Michigan and called this morning to ask if an electrician could check our alternator, batteries, and troubleshoot why the inverter batteries would not hold a charge underway. 2 hours before arriving at the marina our generator threw errors codes and shutdown. We pulled into the marina and docked at the fuel dock to fill up. before the tanks were full they had a service manager out to apologize that their electrician was on a sea trial and yet he was on our boat before we finished filling up. He quickly reviewed the issues and when we asked if he would look into the generator he advised he did not do that but referred us to someone else. We called the front office and they tracked this third party down who was on our boat inside of 45 minutes and diagnosed the trouble. I usually cannot get a service tech on my boat in under 2-3 weeks and Ihad 2 in less than an hour. I thank Olivia for her hard work in pulling this off. Above and beyond my...
