Jeremiah was an excellent server. Very knowledgeable about the menu. He was also very polite and courteous. He even offered to pay for the étouffée that was less than edible. The hush puppies were excellent, along with the chicken tenders, grouper, and regular fried fish basket. I would recommend the fried fish or the hush puppies. The shrimp étouffée was subpar on all accounts. The roux base was not cooked at all, in fact, it tasted and looked like cornstarch and water. The onions and bell peppers were not cooked all the way through. And anyone who knows anything about Cajun/Creole cooking knows that a roux is brown and the onions, bell peppers, and celery all get stewed down. This was like yellow bell peppers in a thickened cornstarch sauce. The Boudin balls were a nice golden brown on the outside were cooked through, but had virtually no flavor. The crabcakes, were definitely crabby. But they lacked any other seasonings whatsoever. A little glazed drizzle on the top for a nice touch, just not enough to make up for the lack of flavor. The manager was rude to her server, which sealed the loss of seven customers, which included my party of five and two additional customers that were waiting for to go orders. Bottom line, if you order the fried meals, you’ll probably be OK, as long as the cooks in the back remember to put their hair nets on and you don’t end up with long hairs in your french fries I think you’ll be fine . Cajun, I would be ashamed to even consider this place Cajun. I’ve had better Cajun food at an all you can eat Chinese buffet. No, I would not recommend spending your time and money here. Edit for reply from management: Our server attempted to remove the single entree but was chastised by his manager. When Jeremiah explained to her the issue of an uncooked étouffée, and that only one single bite had been taken from it, she became hostile. Two customers that were waiting for takeout overheard that exchange. And so did two members of my group, one of which was me. She informed our server that he would be paying for that meal if he took it off the bill. Since his service was not the issue, it was uncooked food, I chose to not let him be punished for the kitchen’s mistake and the managers less than positive attitude. Hire somebody that’s been to culinary school, and go to management school. Learn how to deal with people in a positive manner. And unless you’re paying your staff to serve the Internet on the phone, tell them to put those...
Read moreOrdered the parmesan shrimp pasta for my girlfriend which under their description you could have gotten chicken or shrimp she chose the shrimp it was supposed to be with an alfredo sauce but in no way was this an alfredo sauce It only had five shrimp and was in a small plastic Bowl because it was takeout for 18.95. For that price you expect a decent portion But Not only was the portion small it wasn't fitting the description of alfredo then only after a few small bites it made her feel sick we also ordered the grouper basket which came with two small pieces of fried grouper and a huge pile of fries for around $22 if we had known the portion sizes before ordering we would have gotten something else so when I got back home we were very unpleased with this especially for the price we paid so I took the shrimp alfredo back and ask for a refund just for that part not the entire ticket when I got back there the owner wasn't there anymore and neither was any of the other staff when I picked my food up so they could only offer me a gift card even after calling the owner and explaining they would not give me a refund I don't advise anyone eating at this place and if you do I wouldn't order anything except for the boiled menu that is very bad business practices and on their menu at the store it does say no refunds but we weren't going off of the menu from the store as we ordered from a menu we found online which does not state that this is in no way before the people who work there only the owners the people who were there were professional that was the only part of my experience that was okay everything else was terrible very overpriced for the amount of food that you get and the descriptions of the food do not match what you are served therefore I don't feel the no refund stated on the menu should even matter because if you don't get what it says you're going to get by description and then still refuse to give a refund and only a gift card it may be different if it was in fact a alfredo sauce but this was just some oily flavored noodles with five shrimp for 18.95 when my entire pound of boiled shrimp that I ordered was 22 we were clearly served a side dish sized order at a full size price I do not recommend this place to anyone...
Read moreHopefully the new restaurant is not owned by the same people. Nothing does well in that location and bad service is not going to help.
$55 was our bill for 3 clusters of snow crab (1lb and 1/2lb) 2 red skin potatoes (cut in half to make 4 pieces), 1 piece of corn, 2 slices of Texas toast, and 1 diet Pepsi. Waited for someone to take our order and finally a person (manager or possibly owner?) took our order. Prices on their "specials/all you can eat" were different from the menu and we were told were the old prices. Food quality was ok, but not to the "good" level. We were checked on once and didn't get the melted butter or refill requested. The men's bathroom needed attention and the soap dispenser was broken with no warm water. Waited at least 15 minutes for the check. We were visited by some management type person who gave us little pastries filled with whipped cream.
When we were leaving (after finally getting the bill) we were given excuses for our experience. The real reason is because they appear to be very disorganized. Being busy certainly can't be used as an excuse because they were not busy. Should have been a clue when dining in this area on a Friday night.
Will NOT be returning. Based on other people's reviews I expect to be flamed by this establishment.
Reply: As expected, no acknowledgement for poor service and in fact is criticizing for a lack of tip. It's my belief that tips are earned for quality service given by a server. Considering my comments above, quality service was not even close to being given. And who would have received a tip had one been left? The young man who sat us, took, our drink order, and brought the drinks? Or the gentleman who we had to wave down to get our check? Or the other person who brought our food? Or the lady, who I am assuming is management and therefore not earning tip wages?
My lack of tip is an indicator of how we feel we were served. The food we were eating when asked how everything was, was fine.
I highly recommend anyone reading this looking for a place to eat consider our experience and decide how important service, value, and integrity are when choosing where you...
