This is a good holiday attraction, and we went last year, too. I will say that there are definitely some things that could make the experience better. We pulled into line at 6:45pm and pulled out of the lights at 9:15pm. It is worth getting there earlier!
There are a few portable bathrooms at the beginning of the queue, so if you have to go, I would definitely go then. Because once you’re in line, you are stuck, and there are no other options for bathrooms.
There is no option to get out. This is a little concerning, because what if you have an emergency and need to leave? There needs to be at least one place throughout the show where you can exit.
Also, there is a vendor selling kettle corn at the beginning of the queue, and they do have water and pop. It would be great if at least there was one other vendor selling hot chocolate or coffee. Maybe fresh pretzels? Basically, something warm, because it will likely be cold while you are there.
The biggest problem is the people that make a complete stop while driving through the lights. There is no reason why you can’t just let your foot off the brake and cruise through at 2-3 mph with everyone else. The biggest culprit here is their “Night Before Christmas” display. There are intricate displays with text towards the end of the trail, and almost everyone just stops to read and look. Luckily the road is wider here, so you can drive by everyone if you want, but for 4/5 of the whole queue, you are subject to these people stopping. It would be nice if these displays were in the area where you wait before admission. The flow of traffic would be much better and it would give patrons something to look at while waiting.
With all this being said, it is an impressive light display and they have A...
Read moreIt looks like it would be a lot of fun but not a lot of thought was put into the production obviously. I drove from over an hour to see these lights and I was in stop-move a foot traffic for 3 hours. My kids fell asleep waiting to get into the grounds. There were cars coming from absolutely everywhere and you could not find a single soul who was working the “show”. We asked at the popcorn stand if there was a way to get out and the lady said she had no idea. Then we waited another hour to get to the actual ticket booth before we were told how to get out of there. With this big of a show there should be workers throughout directing traffic. There should be a map located on the website showing the designated route to enter. Staff should be approaching the car to ask if they want snacks/drinks instead of having to pull up and flag someone to come take your order. The whole thing just seemed very unorganized and a quick money grab. There seems to be no regard for families and all the time wasted. I think the concept of drive through lights is awesome but it definitely needs to be revamped from an...
