It's been t̶w̶o̶ t̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ f̶o̶u̶r̶ f̶i̶v̶e̶ w̶e̶e̶k̶s̶ three months.

I responded to the link provided by the owner. Nothing. Crickets. I guess I'm too small to matter.

I have completely given up on getting any response from the managers who asked me to reach out. I also haven't been back to Shreveport. I've since just been flying to Nevada and staying at non-Boyd properties to much greater satisfaction.

I feel like sending each of those managers fifty seven dollars for Christmas as they seem to need it so badly.

I want to start with saying that on this past visit, I had two of the best casino bartenders I have ever enjoyed the privilege of meeting -- Tyler and Allison. Both were just amazing running the bar, customer service, and entertaining banter. Chef's kiss to both of them.

Now then -- onto the impenetrable wall of non-existent customer service on the hotel side.

I booked a standard king room with the hotel. The day before arrival, I got an email to check-in online. Apparently, in that check-in process, there was a box that asked, "Do you have a birthday wish for your stay?" as my birthday had passed just a couple days prior.

As it has been relayed to me, though I have zero memory of doing so, I wrote something along the lines of, "A birthday room upgrade would be great!"

When I arrived at the hotel to get my room key, the woman said they had me in a junior suite. I was visibly surprised by this, and said, "No. I booked a standard king room."

She responded, "Oh, they upgraded you for your birthday."

I was appreciative and thanked her and proceeded to enjoy a nice two-night stay.

When I got home, I opened up my folio and found that I had been charged for the room upgrade.

I tried calling that day, and was told that I would have to speak to a hotel manager who wouldn't be back until three days later. I got sent to his voice message, and left a message with my name and contact information.

I called back three days later, he still wasn't there, and I got voice mail again.

I finally got a shift supervisor who immediately began raising her voice with me citing the alleged request for an upgrade that is was MY request and that SHE WOULDN'T ARGUE WITH ME.

At this point, I'll admit I lost my cool, said, "We're done," and dropped a profanity before hanging up.

I've still not heard from the hotel manager.

Nothing. Not a word.

Congrats -- you baited and switched me out of fifty seven dollars. The last fifty seven dollars you will ever get out of me.

Bummer because I finally reached a players club tier with some benefits, and the casino staff are fantastic.

I've scouted out Bally's next door, and am likely to either switch over to them on future visits or return to the Bossier side where more is going on outside the casinos anyway as the river district on the Shreveport side has become little more than a ghost town of homeless people sleeping on the benches.

So long Sam's Town. Boyd Gaming holds some of my favorite properties in Vegas, but due to your insolent hotel staff in Shreveport, I won't patronize your Vegas properties either.
