I feel sad writing this review because I truly don’t like writing bad reviews. I also don’t like when businesses don’t take proper care of their potential customers. I was in the market for my first Rolex. It was going to be a gift from my business partner. I wanted to get a Yachtmaster 40mm blue dial. I could easily get it online at a place like Nashvillewatch but I grew up visiting Sarasota every year and I wanted to support a local business. Plus o could get it adjusted to fit my wrist. So I called 5 days before we were going to arrive and said I said we were from out of town and wanted to buy that watch. He said he would hold it for me. I was super thrilled. I arrived the following Monday and he said that he sold it and that it was an accident. Things happen, I get it. But he assured me and stressed that a new one would come the next day (Tuesday) at 12pm and that I could call to check. I called Tuesday and he said it wasn’t there, but it should come by 3pm, he didn’t call me back and I called at around 4pm. He said that it wasn’t there and that it will come the next day. I said it’s okay because I wasn’t leaving until Thursday. So I called back Wednesday and he said that he should be hearing back any moment now about its arrival. So I called back at around 3pm because Michael didn’t call me back and he said that it would be there by 5pm or 6pm and that even if the store closed he would stay a little later so I could get it. It was so polite of him to offer that. Well, 5:45 rolled around and I heard nothing. So I drove up before they closed and he said it wasn’t there, but it should be there Thursday morning at around 9am. I was leaving that morning so I told him to not worry about it and I’ll shop somewhere else. He shook my hand and I left. I left a little later than I expected on Thursday morning and I called to see if it had arrived. I was told that it hadn’t arrived and he thought that I was shopping somewhere else for the watch. I politely said he was right and I said “Have a good day” and hung up. This was the first and it will be the last that I support this...
Read moreI brought my 10 year old Seiko 200 meter Chronograph watch to SWC for repair of a defective second/minute timing start/stop button and a new battery, if necessary. The employee told me that it would be ready in a day or two. Two days later, I called and was advised that it was just given to the watchmaker and would be ready at noon. After going there at noon, I was advised by the owner that a gasket to waterproof the watch needed to be ordered and that the watch would be available in 5 days. After 7 days without hearing from SWC, I called and was advised that the watch was available for pick-up. At SWC, while retrieving the watch, I was assured by the employee who I initially gave the watch to, that the repairs were made and, after specifically asking, was further advised that a pressure test had been made to it to ensure waterproofing. After taking the watch home, the problem with the second/minute timer button remained, so I took the watch to another watch repair business and asked them to fix this problem. When I went to retrieve the watch, I was advised that the waterproofing gasket in the watch did not fit correctly and would have potentially leaked in water causing damage and that the battery in the watch had not been seated correctly. I never mentioned SWC to this business nor did I mention my attempt to repair before bringing the watch there. Clearly, I was not treated competently and fairly by SWC. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend every customer of SWC who brings something in for repair insist on a detailed receipt that expressly states what is being requested and a detailed invoice stating what was done when retrieving your property that specifically states what was done by SWC at the customer's request. ...
Read moreI had a personally bad experience with my former watch dealer, who took full payment for a watches and had me wait for over a years with no product delivered. Then tried to make me use that money to buy something else , I was furious . A friend recommended I go to Sarasota watch company. This was about 8 months ago! Honestly, I haven’t looked back since!
There is more integrity and sincerity with the team and the Staff here than any store I have been to! I mostly work with Steve who Is gentleman in the luxury retail industry that I have met! He embraced me as a friend from the offset! Mike and others are amazing as well! My watch collection is expanding significantly and to brands outside of Rolex models!
The icing on the cake for me was yesterday!! A Rolex Batman for my sons wedding ! A dream watch for him, When I give it to him he will be in cloud nine and it’s because of this team! I am already thinking about my next watch.Steve showed me a skydweller blue dial And I was stunned that he even had this . If I Decide to add this one to my collection I know Steve will do the right thing again . Don’t let anyone tell you there is a better dealer in Sarasota or I would even say the whole state of Florida !! There is no obligation to buy a solid gold model to get a sports watch here... it’s all about the right people who have a love of fine watches and are genuine! what I took in from the initial second I walked in , and all my conversations with them and how they treated me is that Your not a customer here, you are a part of...
