So Thursday 8/22 was my 76th birthday. I had checked out Alpine as a meat Mkt and noticed itās also a Steak House with a nice menu. Now I should tell you that I prepaid only prime beef in my house. I fact my freezer is filled with it at this very moment. The prospect of having someone else prepare a nice steak dinner for myself and my wife caused me to go there for our dinner. We started with wine, followed by a small salad and an order of stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were a bit dry and the stuffing needed a ābinderā to hold it together. Salad was cold and crisp. Center cut sirloin med-rare for my wife. New York Strip Med-rare for me. The steaks are served!! They look great. I move dishes around on table and wife starts right in. Herās is done perfectly and is tender and juicy. I now cut mine. Way over done!! Gray band of a quarter inch all around. Center light pink. Iām thinking I should send it back. My wife looks over and says. No juiceāover done!! Sheās over half way through her steak. If I send it back Iāll be eating alone. So I decide to suffer through it and start eating. Itās like chewing on leather and eating saw dust. The bill comes. Iām not looking for anything off. I try to explain to the server that the star of the dinner (Strip) was awful. She doesnāt let me get through a sentence and sheās all over me. And then storms away. Her (Catherine) service was very good so I left her over 15 percent and we left. The steak was NOT prime as they advertise it it frozen and refrozen to be so dry. Not a good experience. Oh, $27.99 for a...

Iāve been three times over a two month span. I wanted to experience different times of day and changes in staff and each visit has been equally enjoyable. My latest server, Amelia, was amazing. She helped my wife with her meal choice based on what to expect from each meal and my wife wasnāt disappointed. She had a fun personality and knew exactly what to bring out to our table as we started thinking it. Great service.
The food here has been so enjoyable with each visit weāve found ourselves excited for each trip back. Your mouth will begin watering just thinking about going back. The quality is on point, and as you can see in other photos, the meat is top notch.
The only place I dinged a star was atmosphere. This is a steakhouse, so donāt go in expecting fancy frills for tourists. The sign out front is damaged from a storm from what I can guess. If you want perfect atmosphere there are other choices in the area. You can find places set up purely for tourists, or that have beach views. Personally, Iāve found the best food rarely comes from places with the greatest atmosphere.
Thereās plenty of competition in the region for food, but Iāve found this to be my favorite for the type of food they specialize in. I will also say Iām not the only one in that boat because they have been busy every time Iāve been there.
Alpine Steakhouse and Butcher Shop is well worth the...
Ā Ā Ā Read more7 years ago, we moved from Chicago (a Mecca in steak houses), and found Alpine. Back then, it was amazing. single source beef, proper dry aging, excellent cuts, perfect cooks, and very reasonable prices. We went almost every week for a while. We have gone to Alpine for all these years, and I now have to leave a bad review; horribly bad review. For the past year or so, nothing to-go was ever cooked right; either a tire, or raw. I get it, tricky to take home, but kind of your job as a steak house, and I live 5 minutes away. Quality is way way down. The farm you used to use, you were rivaling top tier steak houses in Chicago, now you rival Applebees. The meat quality is simply not there, and you can tell no one is the kitchen knows whats going on. And price. My God price. I know what is happening in the world, but you need to let customers know, especially long time customers, that that $39 steak is now $70. You are charging more for a cut than Hyde Park, and you simply can't do that because you are not good enough anymore. 1 bone in rib eye medium (came near raw so I had to season and cook it at home), one twice baked that was burnt to a crisp (I do have pictures of both), 5 asparagus, and a tiny thing of pasta with a few drops of marinara on it... $94 dollars. You guys have lost your way, and as sad as I am to say it, this will be my last trip to Alpine. Ya'll were great once, try and find that...
