So I was also a bit worried based on some of the negative reviews. My daughter was invited to a bday party at Urban air so the whole family attended. We paid for deluxe pass. I wanted to see for myself what type place this would be.
First I had low expectations based on the reviews as well as the fact I visited on a Saturday I expected a crowd and chaos. Regarding the low review scores, I believe management took those reviews seriously and made some needed changes.
The staff: bunch of young teenagers. Who would've thought. But they were doing their job and helpful with questions I had. None were on their phone. All were doing their job such as separating children at trampoline to avoid injuries or watching for any horseplay etc or cleaning up. There was constantly staff members wiping tables or sweeping.
Restrooms - surprisingly we were there for 3 hours but didn't use the restroom. Cant comment on the cleanliness. But judging from the floors and garbage containers on the playgrounds, I am sure bathrooms couldn't be that bed. But even if they were to be messy its a Saturday with so many ppl. Cant be too critical.
Food - it was a Saturday. There was a line. It was 30-45 minute wait (Waiting on line and waiting for food). But food was good. Pizza better then Dorney park. Prices not too inflated. Water cost me 2$. Pizza was like 3 and change. Not bad. Doesn't break the bank.
Lockers - extra $ but there are storage shelves free to use. Any valuables should be left in car anyway or pay 8 bucks for locker.
The entertainment- Not bad. You definitely will have more fun during the less crowded times. But overall the kids had a blast. Long line for soaring harness ride. But the warriors area, trampolines, the gladiator battle pit (don't know exact name) the arcades, and other areas were easily accessible and despite the large amount of people majority are considerate, not much pushing or crazy people with attitudes. It was chilled all things considered.
one more thing to add : plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the area. I like that. This is the end of covid rules so yes we are back to being very close to oneanother for better or for worse. I appreciate the ample supply of sanitizer and seeing someone always sweeping up.
Management definitely listened to the critiques. I also want to thank the people who left 1-3 star reviews. Thats the only management can show that they do care and take action to improve. Also the socks... yes its more money to pay, its anti slip socks. Buy them once. Take em home. Clean them and bring them back is all I can say.
Any negative aspects from my experience??? Well there was one young women staff member who looked like she hated her job. But even she chugged through and her angry stressed out facial expressions did not affect her work ethic. Not everyone can work with a smile but as long as she still being responsible who cares. i think there was too many people as the afternoon went on. I feel like management should be limiting number of people entry. Is there even any capacity limits? I arrived at 2pm and while it was crowded there was still room to breath. By 5pm it felt too crowded. My next visit will definitely be on a weekday of possible. I wish arcades were a tad cheaper. With 10 bucks I was able to play two games of air hockey and two player game of motorcycle race. Take that info to make your own opinion.
Final thoughts: Definitely gotta try the go karts. Too bad you need ultimate pass for that one. Next time we will do so. Give this place a shot the kids will definitely enjoy it. But during busy times I would suggest parents keep their eyes on their kids. Staff are not babysitters parents should play a part in watching for children's safety and...
Read moreHad my daughter's 13th birthday party today... I am not happy! For the amount of money they charge, you would think they would give you a better experience. Nope! I hate to name drop but this situation calls for it. Patty, the party coordinator, sent me an email stating that since I booked a two hour party, which was scheduled from 12 to 2, the guests for my daughters party were only able to stay one (1) singular hour after the 2hours. Normally I'd say ok I get it but when I was trying to find a place to have a party, I was told by whoever answered the phone that my guests could stay as long as they wanted! How did it could from as long as they want to 1 hour.... And this isn't the worse of it all... Because to be honest, 3 hours was a good amount of play time more most of the kids. I'm more upset about the fact that in this said email from Patty, she told me all party food needed to be pre-ordered. Okay cool. So I only had 10 kids so I figured 2 pizzas would be good. After all it was just lunch... Well my party host brought out 2 medium sized pizzas. The slices were so small. Ok whatever... So back to this email and Patty saying all party food needed to be pre-ordered... Okay the key word is party food. I was just paying for the kids. I let the adults know there was a cafe they could purchase food at for themselves... Well I'm told by Miss Patty.... "I sent you an email. All party food needed to be submitted 48 hours ahead of time..." Ok so my party parents including myself are hungry... We were told we could not order anything from the cafe because they do not open until 2 but it's gonna be 3 today because we have any issue. Ummmm well I'm here to tell you that Patty's email NEVER said anything about my guests parents not being able to eat because we wouldnt be allowed to order food since we were apart of a party.... What type of mess is thar?! To add insult to injury.... She had a terrible attitude the entire time.
Over $500 spent and this is our experience... Great customer service guys. I'll gladly have future patties elsewhere... And I hope you will too.
Ugh talk about disgust. (I work in customer service...and if I had customer service skills like Patty.... I'd have to file for unemployment because I...
Read moreToday- Waited 15 minutes for 2 chicken tender combos and one kid chicken tender combo. When my order was ready it was only one adult combo and one child's, one adults combo was missing. The cashier knew it right away and it took her several times of explaining to the girl in the window in the kitchen for her to understand it was missing a combo meal and to make it. I gave my family their food and waited for the other meal so my child could eat and get back to “fun”. The kid working with the cashier moved as slow as possible to help get drinks and just stood there daydreaming (I was standing there for a while). There were multiple people going in and out of the kitchen area, multiple people standing around, wearing gloves while taking money and then continuing to wear the gloves that touched money to get food items, one was eating ICE from a cup the whole time I waited for my order- in the kitchen window!!! They all need to be taught serv safe and proper food handling instructions need to be in place.
My son really wanted to go back there to do the zip line. It was his absolute favorite part about our first visit. He rode it one time today and would NOT go back on because he said the guy who was working it was as so mean. This is a huge problem! If you are making a child not want to go back on their favorite attraction at a place aimed for children, you’re at the wrong job! I’ve noticed both times I’ve been there that a lot of the staff does not smile and do not look happy to be there in the least bit.
As a professional who works in a similar field, I would be having meetings by next week about proper food handling, customer service, and personal accountability (take note to how these kids are dressed- slippers to work!).
This was not the five star visit like I had in October. Pocketbooks are tight and if you want returning customers and good word of mouth bringing folks back, do better!! I’m not the first to comment that the staff...
