Every one in the Lehigh Valley knows this company has been here a long time. It saddens me to write this review. On Friday July 21st I had a Service Call for my Garage Door. The Tech ( who I will not name) arrived late in the day. He was polite and was here about one hour. When he left the door was going up and down and everything seemed fine. Twenty minutes after he left my daughter was going out pushed the garage door opener on the wall and a large rubber like chain dropped from the track. I called the company immediately and a woman answered. I asked her to get the tech and have him return. She said I was his last appointment and would have to wait till Monday or pay an emergency charge for a Saturday. I had just paid $145.00 dollars. I insisted she call the tech. She said he is probably home. I said in 20 minutes? So she said okay. She called me back and said he can not be reached as it went into his voice mail. What a bunch of baloney. So she gave me an appointment for today Monday July 24th at 8 a.m. The tech came only to tell me it can not be fixed and it would be better to get an entire new unit. He said it was a coincidence that this happened. REALLY???? Their new products may be great but the Service Department is a disaster. I have other friends who say the same thing but never gave the bad reviews. They also owe me two new storm doors that they promised on July 3rd. as the ones I have they have no parts for and they installed years ago. We will see if I ever get those doors. Very Unhappy Customer, Vicki Youngelman
This is a follow up review to the one above. Here is what happened since the above review. I received a call from a very polite lady at ABE Doors and Windows. Excellent verbal skills. Her name is Shannon. She apologized for my bad "phone " experience with the service repair call for my garage door. That was the least of the issue. There was no mention of them being at fault.I ended up with a garage door that no longer could function twenty minutes after the service call. One might ask what might she have said? There were three possible options for this company to at least try to make it right. 1. We would like to refund the $145.00 dollar service charge. ( the very least of the options) 2.We would like to give you a 50% discount on a new Garage Door Opener Unit. 3.We are going to replace the unit. Well nothing like any of these things happened, so I got an apology. Talk was cheaper for them. Well a very wise and brilliant business man told me long ago "it is how you finish in life that counts. " I add to that it is how you finish in anything that really counts. So in the final analysis my negative review still holds for not calling them for Garage Door Repair.
Now for some good news. ABE did deliver two new Storm Doors for my home as promised . Free of charge. The manufacturer sent them to ABE Free of charge as the doors had problems and parts were not readily available. The well spoken lady at ABE said there would be no installation charge from them something they were paying for. The installation tech was wonderful and he was here a long long time. The doors are gorgeous. I am thrilled with them. Thank you,...

Read moreHad lift master installed on both sides of our garage as we have a 2 car garage. This was done in October. I was satisfied at the time until I saw a cable and wheel hanging off my side of the garage. I called them and explained what happened. I told them that I recently had the work done on my garage doors, brand new lift master installed. And that this should not be happening after they just installed the brand new opener. The man on the phone was super nice and said oh yeah you just got it done October we have availability this afternoon we will come take a look at it for you. The technician came and fixed it and left a paper (not an invoice) in my garage since I was at work when it was done. And I was never told I would have to pay anything on the phone (since I just had the openers installed in October), not before the job got done, nothing about a service fee. No discussion of prices on things were mentioned, period. It was presented to me as they would come out and fix it since the lift masters were recently installed. I get a phone call today from them saying there’s an invoice and where should they send it to. So I said uh what invoice. And she proceeds to tell me that what he fixed had nothing to do with the lift master. So instead of the technician calling me and telling me this prior to doing the work, they went ahead and did the work without confirmation of price. The manager told me that their calls are recorded and that they listened to the phone call between me and their employee and that they’re using it as a learning experience so they took the $90 service fee off the invoice- how nice of them. I still owed $200 for something I thought...
