I actually came here after having a bad experience at another nail salon. I went to another salon (Mina’s) and though I conveyed what I wanted they obviously did not listen and still tried to charge me for partially done messed up nails despite the fact that it was not even close to what I asked for (and I was very clear about what I wanted…….even physically showed her on my nails where I wanted the pink to end and the white to begin above it….. said I wanted it to be 3/4 pink and 1/4 white). The sad thing is I actually went to Mina’s 10 years ago and had the exact same thing happen then despite the fact that I was a specific then as well. I thought it might’ve been a fluke and thought I would give them another shot considering that it had been a decade but even 10 years later I was still just as dissatisfied!! I then called up Allure Nails, asked if they would be willing to take me that late in the evening, (especially with it being the night before Father’s Day ), was immediately accepted, and left a very happy customer!! In addition to the fact that they did a good job and took me so last minute, believe it or not, one of the positives I have to say about them is the fact that they were willing to correct or make adjustments on my nails if I pointed out a small mistake. I cannot tell you how many places I’ve been to that have outright refused to do this even if they were blatantly in the wrong and made very visible mistakes on your nails!! I’m sure so many of you have heard these following statements: “oh you can barely tell“, “ I no have time to redo your nail”, etc. So many of these places settle for mediocrity but Allure went above and beyond and made sure that I left happy. They paid great attention to detail and made any adjustments that I asked for until I left a happy customer and I saw that they did the same with other customers as well. That’s like finding a unicorn when it comes to nail salons!! I HIGHLY recommend this place!! I even recommended it to my...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed in my nails at the beginning. My nails pointed to the sky, not the shape or length I asked for, way too short and lumpy, and lastly completely misshaped. We called before hand asking if they had room for a fill and new set in about 30 minutes was told yes then made to sit for an hour before even starting me and got about a 1/3 of the way done with me before my friend was started on. I told showed her a photo and told her multiple times things i wanted fixed and finally just got tired of explaining again and again. Afterwards the manager? I am assuming checked in with me and told me to come back to get the redone by someone else. I was informed my nail tech “did not speak English” I was blown away because never once was I told this beforehand or was anyone with her to explain what I was looking for. She spoke so quiet I had to say what 4 times before she just got frustrated and would stop speaking. She talked on the phone the whole time I was being serviced. We came back 2 days later to get them fixed, she was annoyed with me the whole time we were there. We sat for another 30 minutes before being helping which was fine since they told us not to make an appt and to just come in. We were informed she would redo them and that the manager was not there so we could not have someone else do them. The front desk informed us the reason they were horrible is due to her “not speaking a lot of english” again. She took her time but barely spoke to me and got snippy and rude with me when asking again for her to fix things. At one point arguing with me in regard to what length I wanted. Once I showed her that again the tip she put on was making my nails point up she said that’s just how my nail is (a good nail tech can see that and work around it making it look nice as I have had my nails done many times and never had an issue) I am more happy with the new set but still see quite a few problems so I would skip this salon next time I am...
Read moreI’ve given this place multiple chances and I am still disappointed. I have natural nails and I typically get gel polish.
Although the atmosphere is pleasant and the technicians generally appear friendly, it doesn’t make up for bad manicures and way over-priced services that don’t match the value received.
Three weeks ago I splurged and got the new Cat eye polish with nail art. The technician was excited to try out new designs but failed to tell me how much each of her creative add-ons would cost. Buyer beware I guess. They looked pretty enough, but the way the technician thin out the coats of polish left my nails vulnerable to breakage. I also had the problem of jagged edges snagging my hair and clothes. Two weeks after getting my nails done for a whopping $60 (double what I paid in Europe) my right index fingernail breaks so deep into the nail bed that it bled.
Less than a week ago I came in to get French color change and a nail repair for my right index which split deep into the midline. I watched as the technician put a VERY thin coat of polish on. I prayed that I wouldn’t experience another break. Unfortunately it happened again on my left index.
I went back to the shop to speak with a manager only be told that the manager isn’t in and they don’t have a single manager on duty to speak with me. I was told to leave a message. After leaving a message and my phone number the receptionist informed me that the manager would “probably” call me back.
I’m attaching photos of my poorly polished gel...
