Rock N Roll Sushi — Restaurant in Slidell

Will absolutely never be back again. Their salmon roll on the menu listed that it was covered with sauces, which I didn’t want. So I asked the server if I could just get a basic salmon avocado roll, which she said they could do. But then it came covered in sauces. So I explained that I literally meant just a salmon avocado roll, no sauces. An easy mistake/misunderstanding considering their normal salmon roll comes with sauces. I wasn’t mad about that. So she took the roll back and I could tell the person preparing the sushi was annoyed. About 10 minutes later she comes back with what looks like a basic salmon avocado roll. I did notice it looked a little messy, but I attributed that to it being a rushed order. But I take a bite and it is filled with wasabi. I tried another piece in case there was just a little wasabi that got on the piece from the scoop on the side of the plate. But it was also filled with wasabi. It was inedible. I brought it straight to the register and told her that it was filled with wasabi. At that point, I told her I did not want another roll and to take it off of the check. I also told her that avocado and wasabi do not look similar, that’s not an easy or common mistake to make. And I said it felt like my food was being tampered with in retaliation for sending it back. She made no attempt to deny this and said she would take it off the check, which she did. walked in end of the week to half the staff sitting down playing on their phones, from what i saw vaping and playing a board game? sat down and watched as the service staff scrambled to pull a menu to greet me- i sat myself by the way. i guess they weren't expecting customers in mid day- I did notice out of the corner of my eye as i was looking down on my phone that most of the staff were vaping behind the counter/sushi bar. disgusting! my drinking cup was still dirty- i got up to use the rest room which was filthy and had either water or urine on the sticky floor. the hall way smelled like an old wet mop- on my way back from the bathroom i noticed a box of avocados sitting on the floor by the sushi bar- i usually like to take a peak at fish in the sushi case to see whats readily avail- all fish was presliced, looked old and dry and everything behind the sushi counter looked like a mess. cleanliness was not a factor & staff seemed to not care to keep a clean work station- i just left- didnt bother drinking my water either- walked next door to whichwhich and got food. you cant blame the industry on lack of work help anymore- you just blame this place on bad negligence by management and owner on upholding a clean work environment- locations in AL are far better cleaner then what I saw here- save the hassle -drive the 2 hours, daphne location is...
