Just moved to Slidell and was craving Greek. Complete and utter disappointment. The Babba was watery, chicken Sharma was more like chicken jerky ( I honestly couldn't believe they would serve such dessicated meat), the hummus was grainy and the gyro meat way too salty. Based on their ratings maybe we hit on an off night but considering they were 1 for 5 (the salad was fine), I'm not sure I could ever give this place another shot. My dogs did like the chicken I couldn't stomach so we have leftover dog treats so there is that. In response to the owner: so what you're saying is, had I dined in rather than ordered delivery, the gyro meat would not have been too salty, the chicken not overcooked and dried out, the babba ganoush not watery? Based on reviews about the service I think I will skip the dining-in experience to try some of the other 50 dishes but thanks for your reply

I've eaten here twice about six months apart, had the same server both times, saw the same servers. Love a low turnover rate. She provided excellent service both times. The food is generous portions, excellently seasoned and all around a delight to consume. The atmosphere is friendly and on brand. I highly highly recommend their baklava. The MS coast doesn't have any I've found that's as good as theirs. Served with warm honey, it will make you drool for more. Kibbi, hummus and the chicken schwarma with a Lebanese tea would be my recommendations. Their lamb is also great. Tbh I haven't had a bad thing there.

I placed an order for pickup and the food smelled amazing upon entering the restaurant. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and the service was great. On the drive home, my mouth watered in anticipation of tasting the food. The food looked great and smelled great but tasted very bland. We had the Stuffed Grape Leaves, Chicken Shawarma Plate, Rack of Lamb and Pita Bread. The Lebanese Tea was pretty good, probably the 2nd best I’ve ever had…and I’ve had a lot of Lebanese Tea. All of that say, I’d still recommend this place. The food wasn’t bad at all, it just wasn’t as flavorful as we were hoping.

From the moment I walked into Albasha Greek and Lebanese Café, I was met with warm hospitality. The hostess greeted me shortly after I arrived, and when I asked to look over the menu for a bit, she kindly gave me space and time to decide. Once I was ready, she let me know I could place my order with her or walk up to the bar—an option I appreciated for its flexibility. I opted for the bar to keep things simple.

I ordered the chicken shish taouk, which came with an impressively generous spread: a fresh feta salad, creamy hummus, warm pita bread, and rice pilaf. I also added a piece of baklava after learning from one of the friendly waitresses that the desserts are made in-house.

Every member of the staff I encountered had a friendly demeanor and genuine smiles—not just with customers, but with each other. The upbeat and welcoming atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable.

As for the food? The salad was crisp and refreshing, and the warm pita and hummus were comforting and flavorful. But the real standout was the chicken shish taouk. Beautifully marinated in a reddish-orange blend of spices, the chicken was bursting with flavor. I don’t know what seasonings they used or exactly how it was prepared, but it was truly one of the best Mediterranean dishes I’ve ever had. Tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked—it was the kind of dish that lingers in your memory.

The baklava was a sweet finish—flaky, nutty, and not overly syrupy. Clearly crafted with care.

If you’re in the mood for delicious Mediterranean fare paired with genuinely kind service, Albasha is a must-visit. I’ll...

Rude! Fraud! And basic Theft!

Please beware. We eat in and take out from Albasha regularly and normally can overlooked their inconsistencies and down right rude behavior. Today I order 2 sides of grilled onions for our salads. When I arrived to pick up I checked my bag and notified the staff that there was only 1 side of onions. She apologized and went on back to correct the error. I could hear loud voices then she returned with 2 containers and an odd look on her face. I decided to open the containers only to learn that the kitchen didn’t give me a 2nd side they divided the single side and placed into 2 containers. Are you serious I asked? The server could tell that it was done and I asked her to please go get the 2nd side of onions I ordered and paid for please. She hesitated and said she didn’t want to get yelled at!! Shocking!!

That is unacceptable behavior to treat their staff like that and basically commit fraud or theft towards me taking money for something they did not deliver.

If the kitchen staff is ownership that’s embarrassing and every patron needs to rethink visiting albasha in slidell ever again.

I will be reporting this incident to the appropriate state agencies and possibly federal agencies that can protect employees from this type of abuse.

I will never return! And advise my friends and family to...

Besides the food being okay, not upset with the cooks, everyone working front of house is wildly unprofessional and disrespectful. I changed the suggested tip to a lesser amount because I had gotten my order made wrong because our waitress didn't listen to our requests, she didn't give us refills or even help after a drink was spilled, we never got our bread that we had asked for, and at the end of this all after telling us we should not change her suggested amount, she then insulted us saying we probably just "don't make enough to eat out". The manager/owner came out at the start of the interaction and then said he had not heard what had happened and that we were making too big of a deal. I told him it was horrible that she insulted me and my wife in such a way and he kept saying it was just miscommunication. I'll never come back. Worst service than McDonald's. Just order doordash or don't eat...
