Shore Orthopaedic University Associates — Attraction in Somers Point

I have been to this office twice, once in February 2019 and again last week (Sept 2019). To be clear, the staff and medical assistants have always been very friendly and courteous with me, and for that reason, I really dislike the fact that I have to give this practice a 1-star rating based off of my experience with one doctor. Dr. McCloskey and I actually had an amicable visit back in February, but my visit in September was anything but. I think I got 4 sentences out the entire time he was in the exam room. Not only did he deny me the opportunity to speak, he didn't listen to anything I said, and at one point actually said that one of my issues was that I was on Medicaid and getting bad doctors within my plan. I'm on Medicaid because I don't have a lot of money, so I'm not sure how he really expects me to see one of these specialists that I can't afford out of pocket. He also wouldn't write me a referral to return to physical therapy for my issue, which had helped tremendously earlier this year. I couldn't get a sentence out without being interrupted and him talking over me, and all I was trying to do was understand why I couldn't resume PT, which is the only remedy that's helped my issue to date. Basically, I drove an hour and 15 minutes so that McCloskey could berate me for 10 minutes, only to leave feeling like an child that had just been reprimanded for something he didn't do wrong, and drive an hour and 15 minutes home. I took off work for this?

McCloskey severely lacks manners and clearly could use a reminder in how to talk to people. I'll never go to this practice again because of this experience. Never have I been belittled by a doctor so harshly and for no reason. I was honestly stunned the entire 10 minutes I was in there, especially because this appointment was an attempt to be thorough after reinjuring my neck after my initial appointment with McCloskey in February. Unfortunately for me, I got McCloskey the morning somebody decided to piss in his Cheerios. Do yourself a favor and avoid McCloskey at all costs, and to be clear, I'm not saying that any other doctor in this practice has zero manners, just McCloskey. I'd hate for the other doctors in this practice to have a tarnished reputation because of...

We have been going to this office for over 10 years. We being my wife, 5 children and myself. Everyone has always been professional and courteous until last week. My daughter had an appointment at 4pm on 8/22. Her summer camp bus ran late getting back from a field trip so I called the Somers Point office to let them know we would be a few minutes late, 10 mins to be exact. After being on hold for almost 20 minutes the female who answered the phone asked for her DOB. Before I could answer she again asked, impatiently, for her DOB and spoke over me in her want to be done with the call. When I called her on her attitude she attempted to patronize me by saying how sorry she was to speak over me and how rude it was that she did it. We could tell by her voice it was not a sincere response. My 11 year old daughter even knew it was not sincere. After being put back on hold for several minutes she informed us that since we would be 10 minutes late the appointment would have to be rescheduled. All the times we have waited to see the Doctors, in this office, over the years and we never once complained and because we were running 10 minutes late our appointment was cancelled. Physicians are great and helpful, but to get to them you have to deal with incompetent, awful and rude staff at front desk. I had the displeasure of a talking with a Tiffany or Tracy Friday afternoon around 330pm, 6/24/2022, who had the audacity to hang up on my face mid sentence who refused to even hear me out regarding excruciating pain and even refused to make an appointment with my doctor after hearing once that the issue may have been from a work event that is impossible to PROVE whether it happened there or not. I am absolutely disgusted and want to break down after such an interaction. A simple phone call to an establishment should NEVER get a patient to that level! I really hope this review gets noticed and this employee is dealt with appropriately. I’m never the one to go after someone’s job but this Individual should NEVER be in customer service. Utterly disgusted and feel degraded!! If you call and get a Tiffany or Tracy, hang up on her and try again for someone else that actually wants to help/do their job!...
