I have gone for more than a decade. I always thought that it needed more work to the design and to provide privacy to some areas. Certainly where was the ship that was representing that name windjammer. My husband and I always had a cozy spot where we could enjoy the flounder and a manhattan. As times have passed social gatherings are changing. I believe as many people do. Teach your children well and include table manners with conversation skills. I found the Jammer to not have an area where families with children could break the rules of manners and give the children iPads to use throughout their meals. It’s important for parents to understand how much they are doing in negative behaviors such as this. I found it disturbing to be part of this dining experience. The youngest children to be placed at the table with a iPad is inappropriate. The brain development of children is remarkable and has Advanced needs to understand the importance of exposure to the environment of computer technology because of radiation exposure to the brain during their development. Their skulls are much thinner than adults. Personally I asked for a parent to understand this and please turn down the volume as I want to enjoy my meal. Because they were well acquainted with the owners I was disrespected for my own needs and further disappointed that they had called the police to inform me to mind my business. It became my business in a public place where I was not allowed peaceful dining. I was told if I didn’t like it don’t return. I would have been more happy if the family simply had been kind and respectful towards me instead of rising to be aggressive towards me and simply stated they would turn down the volume, appreciated my opinion but I could locate myself elsewhere in the restaurant which they would respect my needs for they were seated before me. I had already moved and the volume was very inappropriate. They had three children with IPads and were using throughout the whole experience even with dessert. I believe that an area where the family who wanted the experience of IPads could be placed away from normal dining experiences. I was treated in a very uncomfortable manner especially with the police presence in the midst of this. What has become clear to me is narcissistic behavior and disregard for others in a public space where dining experience has become a problem and circus atmosphere. I’m not going to pay for any meal with this kind of attitude and disrespect towards other people in the same space. The Lord has blessed me and I am grateful for he is my Shepherd. Beware of this attitude towards your patronage and your enjoyment of dining out here at Windjammer in...
Read moreHorrible! Food is good, service is just okay. Why I say horrible? My husband and I sat down for brunch. We are there three times a month. Our daughter who wasn’t feeling well and decided to stay home with my mom. She face timed me while our waitress was present, asked if we would bring her home an order of children’s chocolate chip pancakes along with a side of bacon. The waitress said let me ask my manager. My husband and I looked at each other, both said why would she need to ask a manager? When she returned she told us we can not order children’s pancakes to go. I asked why? She said because they are not allowed. We walked up to pay the check, my husband spoke to the manager asking her why we could not order our daughter children’s chocolate chip, she told me I can order a short stack. I told her I didn’t want a short stack. My daughter is 9 and is still eligible for the children’s menu. If walked in off the street to order the children’s pancakes to go that is a different story. I didn’t walk in off the street, I was sitting down eating with my husband, wanted to bring my 9yr old home food. This place is ridiculous, should’ve allowed me to order my daughter children’s chocolate chip pancakes! The manager could’ve said “ We will do it this time for you, but next time I’m sorry we can not”. She didn’t want to help and kept only offering us a...
Read moreHorrible food, not capable of making orders correctly, waited 40 mins. for dinner, and it was cold. Vegetable's were overcooked, only 2 out of 5 entrées were eaten, too bad to even take home, not credited. The dinner menu is overly complicated; the use of poor pairing options & food choices are basically the same dishes recreated over & over again, given new names, with no use of imagination or simplicity. Never ever use "fake" mashed potatoes and pass them off as real- it just shows the public the poor choices being made by the head chef. Also, if you have a dinner rush, making customers wait unreasonable amounts of time, please stock plenty of bread-fresh bread, and not tell customers that there's a 45 minute wait for new bread to be made. If it is being made in house, either hire more help, or someone experienced in dessert preparation. I'd like to see it succeed, I've only had dinner there, but until the kitchen is overhauled, please at least skip dinner and a hefty bill to go with...
